We've been lucky so far. Marshall has been a boyscout so far. But, with the benching of Henne and insertion of weak-armed (and winless-in-2009) QB Pennington, prepare to hear more from Marshall. His frustration is going to show much more than it has so far. He'll be pouting on the sidelines and bitching at reporters at the end of the game.
I've already predicted we'll be trading Henne in the offseason. If we continue to lose, add Marshall to that list. He'll be unhappy, and we'll have little choice but to trade him too.
Completely disagree. I bet he was one of the few asking for Penny to start. You could see during games he would talk to Penny more than Henne, and everyone respects Penny alot more than Henne. Marshall does get emotional, and I am sure he will lose it once or twice, but with Penny on field, they may be able to control him better. Think Marshall will be fine
Yep. Here comes a meltdown. Marshall was very avid in his support for Henne. They have a really good relationship and this is going to destroy our locker room.
Marshall will explode and divide this locker room.

RESPONSE: If Marshall is blanketed with a strong armed Henne, how do you suppose that Marshall is going to get free with a weak-armed Pennington?

Marshall is going to catch passes about 20 yards down the field. He's not really a deep threat. Pennington won't even be able to make THOSE throws. Go back and watch the Jets game. You'll see plenty of throws by Henne that Pennington can't complete.
I have a novel idea...how about we wait a few games and see how this plays out. I personally thing Pennington will be better for B. Marsh. Hopefully Chad Sr. can hit him in stride on some of those drag and crossing routes and give him a chance to make some y.a.c. time will tell.
We've got one of the best slot men in the business, Devon Bess. We've got two solid running backs. We no longer have to max protect and watch Henne for a full five seconds to stare down a receiver only to throw it into the ground. Our offense is all about the dinks and dunks, and Penny is the right fit. Maybe Henne could be a good back up somewhere but he doesn't fit in with what we're trying to do.
Marshall is all about running after the catch, nobody is surprised about that. Get him the damn ball! That's what Penny brings to this offense. If the front office thought Henne was an accurate long ball passer, they would have went after Moss.
I think Marshall will be fine, he has great respect for Pennington, and Pennington is an amazing leader, Marshall will flourish under Pennington who is a field general

If this is true then why does Marshall have one of the worst YAC averages...for his career mind you, not just since he's been with the Phins. YAC is not a Brandon Marshall strong suit and it never has been.
Pointing out FACTS that Penny was 0-3 before he was injured, that he threw floaters that were often picked off, that he was so immobile that when his protection broke down he was continually sacked (and did not pick up the two or three yards Henne picked up last week), is to point out facts, not bash him.
Blaming Henne for compensating for 1) a coaching staff that a) abandons the run when it is in rhythmn and is not being stopped by the other team and b) brings in the Wildcat just in time to stop our own momentum; 2) a receiver core that continually drops balls thrown right at them; 3) a defensive secondary that doesn't seem to be able to catch an interception if it was thrown to them by a baby and told that it was coming weeks in advance; 4) a defensive front 7 that often blows easy tackles behind the line of scrimmage; annnnnnnnnnnnnd 5) an offensive coordinator who does not know how to think his way out of a paper bag, is to point out facts.
Now, where Pennington comes in is if Henne with his strong arm and legs can't make up for all that, how in the Sam Hill do you expect Pennington to?
Don't you remember that Pennington was let go for what was then seen as an Old Man in Bret Favre, who in turn was let go for Mark Sanchez.
For Christsake's man, doesn't that tell you something????? Use your head for something other than a coat rack.
Why is Pennington starting? Have you ever seen rats desert a sinking ship?
That is what the coaching staff is doing. They are trying to agree with you that it is Henne's fault instead of having the focus finally come on their own idiotic mismanagement of the team and game time situations.

Ok have you given up on the season? Will you root for Pennington come Sunday, or will you complain like Welead has all year about Henne.
Is this the best move I don't know man they don't pay me to evaluate that, however I like this move, its not like we are scoring TD'S on a regular basis, and not like we are throwing 50 yard bombs 2 3 times a game.
Will this bite us in the butt? SURE it could maybe not. How about we all just watch Sunday and wait and see.
Drink a beer Cryn. LOOK AT THE BRIGHT SIDE WE WILL BE ALL OVER NFL LIVE TODAY LOL...

ROFL well the coaching staff isn't exactly going to fire themselves even if they know they're wrong...
I'm a supporter of Henne's but he really wasn't tearing it up like some of the other young QB's in this league, putting in Pennington doesn't hurt if anything he will make more completions/1st downs and keep Tennesse's offense on the sidelines longer.
Look at Vince Young he was benched for awhile and then got another chance, benching Henne is part of the learning process for him, he'll get another shot I'm sure, it's not like we cut him today or anything.
I am rooting for Pennington Sunday. What I expect to see is leadership. What I expect to see are plays that are not "catch and crumble" but catches on the run that make yardage. I also expect to see Pennington changing plays at the line of scrimmage when he reads the D. He will improvise when necessary and look to Fasano, Bess, Ricky, and Marshall to make plays when Pennington moves or is forced from the pocket. Ball handling will be better too and I do expect play action and sweeps to be run while he is at the helm.
It's time for Henne to watch and learn from a guy that knows how to run a team. Hopefully, he'll pick up a thing or two. We'll know more in a few weeks when I predict, Henne returns with more confidence. If he isn't able to make strides then, expect him to be traded during the off season. That's my .02 cents.
It's amazing how some continue to defend Henne even though it's obvious he has serious issues and lots of problems with his game.
I mean, how can the rest of us not see the fact that Henning has taught Henne how to throw such wonderful int's and loft the football floatingly like a pineapple upside-down cake into the end zone? I mean DUH,
how can we miss the fact Henne is a superior QB who is being manipulated by those terrible “evil” coaches of ours. Poor Henne. We just plain forgot about all those wonderful TD drives he’s led us to this year. And of course his amazing ability to throw the ball to seemingly no one. That takes serious talent!

Thats the best idea and reasoning I have heard all day, cheers
I like Henne, the poor guy has had to deal with Henning calling plays, and also ALOT of dropped passes, bad routes ect. I do think he will be a good QB for a team that allows him to use his arm. But we aren't that team. All our receivers are possession receivers, not burners. And Henne doesn't throw "possession"passes. Alot of the dink and dunk, middle passes are easier to catch with some touch instead of a bullet.
Also, Henne played the gameplan without improv. Your elite QB's take a play, approach the line, then determine if that play will be successful, and if need be, will change. Look at Brady, Brees, Rodgers, and Manning. If they see something they don't like, they change the play. Henne either doesn't have that skill or doesn't have that right to change play. And that is why I don't see a great QB...yet.
I still think Thig has the most potential out of all of them.
