I am not willing to accept 2010 as a 'rebuilding' year. IMO...it is a 'here we go' year.

We were competing with the Colts and Saints. We almost beat them. We are 3 positions away from being dominant...but we are only 1 position away from being a play-off team.

If we had had a Great Safety we would have won a couple more games.
If we had had a Great WR we would have won a couple more games.
Same with a great Nose Tackle ( for 16 games)
Same with a Great ILB.

Any 1 of those upgrades would have been the difference maker in the number of victories. They would have impacted different games...but...each would have resulted in at least 2 victories.

We lost a few games because we gave up big passing plays.
A couple because we could not stop the clock chewing running plays
We lacked the ability to get pressure on the QB in others.
And TE's killed us in others.

pick a position...bring in a star ( 12th over-all should be able to do that)

and let's win 10-11 games and see what the play-offs bring.

I'm tired of waiting.

The 11-5 year was actually bad for the phins organization in that it gave everyone a false sense of where we were as a team. While I'm not one to call for everyone's head if we don't do well this year, I would endorse some changes, not limited to a HC change and GM change.

Jon Gruden!? That is laughable.

As I have said in the past 11-5 was the worst thing that could have happened to us. We played almost every bad tean in the league that year and most of the time won the game by a field goal on the last drive. We were more like a 6-10 team *AT BEST*. We were nowhere close to an 11-5 team, and this past year showed everybody when we actually had a real schedule. And it also showed when we made the playoffs that year getting destroyed by the Ravens. Don't let the 11-5 record fool you, we were still a bad team.

Think about this for a second, our team had about 18-20 holes that needed to be filled and in 2 years they have filled about every hole except about 5 or 6. Our team was so depleted and horrible when Parcells took over, I commend the job he has done so far.

Lol phinsfan.

We live in a "fast-food" world. People want things right now. Building a franchise from basically ground up unfortunately, doesn't work that way.

This talk always makes me chuckle. Just because past regime's failed at the slow approach (which is debatable if they even tried the slow approach) doesn't mean this regime shouldn't try and/or is failing at it.

This goes hand in hand with the "let's tank the season so we get a high draft position next year" talk. By the same people who complain that we have crappy drafts every year.

Ireland/Parcells/Sparano's fate hinges on this draft and It hinges on whether or not they fix the WR position. NOW! Not guys to groom for the future. Fix it now!!!!

What good is a franchise QB if you don't give him any weapons to help. If we open up Week 1 with a WR group of Bess/Hartline/Camarillo/Ginn....then this crew we have running the organization clearly is lost. Has no clue what it takes to win in the NFL in the year 2010.

In 3 years if you can't bring in 1 (JUST 1) NFL Quality WR and get him on your roster via Trade, Free Agency, or Draft.....then you have failed!!

And like I said, if they are 7-9 or worse.....get rid of them!

Something else I noted the other day. One of the local yokel beat guys was talking about how Fasano wasn't holding onto the ball, and we'd given him long enough so it was time to get another tight end.

And then in another article, he was saying to give Ginn more time.

I am so freakin' tired of "giving them more time"....I'm all about building for the long haul, but when is the right time to start asking for new cards and not work with the hand you were dealt.

You have alot more invested in Ginn then Fasano, that's why you really have no other recourse BUT too give him more time.

As mikeO stated this draft is huge for this regime

Can anyone still recall the last superbowl we won? It has been almost 3 decades! lost 2 in the 80's and haven't sniffed one since.

I'm just curious, when was the last draft that wasn't important?

A little side track, why are you LOLing about Jon Gruden AO? I live in the Tampa area, and let me fill you in on some things about Gruden. He's a great, and I mean top 10 coach in the NFL. He's smart, talented and has many many ways to motivate his players. People on the outside look at his time in Oakland and Tampa and (especially in Tampa), think he simply took Dungy's team to the big game. While this statement does have elements of truth, Gruden played a big part in that team going from a simple playoff team to a super bowl team. Some point to Tampa and his demise and say he's not a good coach. That couldn't be further from the truth. Tampa's slide in the last years rest solely on a horrible ownership that completely undermined Gruden at every turn, and basically flushed the FO that won the superbowl simply because they didn't want to keep spending at the level they were. The Glazers are money grubbers, and they can't run a sports franchise, no matter the sport. Just look at what they've done to Manchester United and you'll start to understand what I'm talking about.

All are important. But I have a feeling the coaching staffs and GM's job hinge on this one. Cause another losing season and this group will be swept out

buddy name any head coach that has had his teams record get worse 3 years in a row and has held his job??

That's my PROOF!!

Super Bowl coaches have been fired for having teams that get worse year after year for 3 seasons.

And if we do win 7 games or fewer....i don't know why you would want them around? Why support losers??? I don't get that logic!

No, thats your opinion Mike. And we've had this discussion before, if we go 7-9 with a ton of injuries and our guys keep playing hard for Sporano, then I would not be calling for his head, if we go 1-15 and the team quits on him, I'll help the movers clean out his desk.

the injuries excuse can only be used so many times.

If we go 7-9 again or worse......no more excuses!!
