Tim Bowens

Played only 10 years. Only made 2 pro bowls but was the FOUNDATION of our defense for 10 years. Run stuffer who showed up every week. Made Zach's career in my opinion. This guy was doing the dirty work while Zach was compiling stats.

Never a "great" player by any means. But a solid player for a short 10 year career

Would Jim Jensen be obscure enough? He was beloved by Dolphin fans, but i'm not sure how much credit he got outside that circle. Tough as nails and could always be counted on for a much needed 1st down catch

How far back in time are we talking about? There are dozens of players from the 70s that are virtually unknown today largely because millions of today's sports fans weren't born yet.

I agree with Mike on Tim Bowens. But not with what he said about Zach.

To a certain degree Zach should be talked about. Yes, he is known, yes he made pro bowls. But, for the most part of his career he was very overwhelmingly out publicized by Ray Lewis, Derrick Brooks, Junior Seau and Brian Urlacher.

Zach Thomas is one of the greatest LB's to ever step on a field. He dominated Peyton Manning (which is never, EVER talked about), most of the time calling out Mannings signals and changes.

Zach Thomas is a top 10 LB'er who will never be thought of as because the guys who were more publicized.

Zach Thomas does not fall into the category "very good". He is way above that.

Hall of very good ????.....To me, that is more fitting for Bernie Parmalee or Oronde Gadsden, Tony Nathan, Duriel Harris or Mark Dixon...although Nathan is borderline.

My favorite would be Gadsden. Best hands I ever saw next to Chris Carter.

Liffort Hobley. My former next door neighbor and a really nice guy. Also was a decent backup safety who had a ton of sacks at the position.

Also Oronde Gadsden--had the best hands of any receiver I've ever seen play.

Nat Moore. Great team player and leader. Always seemed to come through in the clutch. Could play RB, WR, Slot R. Remember the helocopter catch?

Jeff Dellenbach: Played every position on the O-Line, including taking over at Center when Dwight Stephensen went down. I consider him one of the ultimate unsung heros in Dolphin's history.

Tim Bowens also played for 10 years at that level missing 2 or 3 toes on one foot. That has to count for something!!

I have always wondered why nobody ever talked about Zach Thomas owning Peyton Manning. He was in Mannings head on every single play.
