who DON'T you want at 12?

I really don't like all this Dan Williams talk. It always goes something like: THIRD best DT in draft, 12 is too high for him but he fits a need, not that productive but he sure is big!!

I don't want this kind of player at 12. I don't care if he fits a "need", at 12 we need an impact player, and BPA. If we end up with Williams I'll be upset. It doesn't sound like he's too much different at NT than what we can get in 2d or 3d round, or even later (i.e., big body).

Anyone else?

McClain.

We just paid Dansby big money, time to fix another position. Plus, I don't think the kid is any good

Williams (not worth a #12)
McClain (has Crohn's disease, and we now have Dansby)
Demetrius Thomas (don't think he's worth a #12)

I think the chances of drafting Williams at 12 are almost nonexistent. It is always reported and commented on that Parcels does not take WR's in the first round. Well, same goes for nose tackles. I think there is a better chance we take someone like Owens later on. (The guy from GA, I believe, that put up 44 reps on the bench).

I do not want Williams or McClain either. In addition...Carlos Dunlap, Everson Griffin or any of the projected 3-4 DE's (Odrick). Not that I don't like the players, I just don't want to spend the pick on a position that we don't have a great need. Look at the Chiefs last year taking Tyson Jackson at 3. He didn't do much and was supposed to be the next Richard Seymour.

I think at 12, we need a play maker....Berry, E. Thomas, Bryant, D. Thomas, Tate, B. Marshall, Morgan or even Spiller but that's another luxury pick.

I'll also add Kindle (makes very few plays) and McClain (ditto, plus don't need now with Dansby)

J P Paul scares me--he's got bust (Vernon Gholston) written all over---the success rate of "workout wonders" is horrible

So, I guess Channing Crowder is the ILB you guys love!! Woo hooo!! Sorry, not me.

My picks for most-not-wanted players are as follows:

Sergio Kindle (see Vernon Gholston)

Jason Pierre-Paul (Again, see Vernon Gholston)

And finally....any NT not named Suh or McCoy.

how about i dont want a player at 12 likely not going to be anyone there that is an absolute standout that we cant get later, so lets trade down to like a late first and maybe a 2nd or 3rd rounder

You can throw JP Paul on my list as well. As well as Kindel, it sounds like he is more of a 4-3 guy now from reading up on him, so I don't want him in Miami.

my list of who I "want" at 12 (or who I wouldn't be unhappy taking) are in no order-- Dez Bryant (risky but amazing upside if he pays off), Brandon Graham (guy just makes plays), Derrick Morgan (supposed to be a top 10 talent), Eric Berry (probably won't be there), Earl Thomas (playmaker).

Except for Berry, most all of these guys will likely be there at 12. Which means trading down would be great but the problem is, unless an OT or QB falls, no one will want to trade up.

If we took him at #20 I would be fine with it, just not at #12. But, that's just my opinion.

I agree. Dan Williams isn't a "sexy" pick, but one that might be the smart pick and a solid one. I don't know how he rates vs the rest of the Nose Tackles (after the top 2). But if the front office thinks he is the real deal and took him at 12 I wouldn't be upset.

There are a lot of quality nose tackles in this draft though. So if you can get a WR or OLB in Rd 1, then grab a NT in round 2, that aint an awful way to approach this.

Pass on McClain, because he has Crohn's disease?!?! Hahaha. If we're passing on guys for minor, common, treatable ailments, we might have to pass on Pierre-Paul because of his peanut allergy and Earl Thomas because of his acid reflux.

McClain's Crohn's disease is ENTIRELY IRRELEVANT from anything that has to do with his performance on the football field. Even halfway decently managed Crohn's disease is 0.00% of a limiting factor to someone's physical and athletic abilities. And in McClain's case, with having a mild case of Crohn's that it extremely well managed.... I would pass on a player who's near-sighted before I would pass one McClain for this.

That being said, after the Dansby signing, I think we should pass on McClain to focus on an area of more need like a play making safety. Earl Thomas at 12# would help this team more than McClain at 12#

Im no doctor so I don't know enough about Crohn's disease to know what it really means. But I agree with the rest. NO to McClain

I wish Earl Thomas was 15 lbs heavier. Even still, I think this guy's going to be a real ball hawk in this league. I just don't think we have a shot at Eric Berry who I would kill for, as he might and probably is better than Thomas.

I think at this point, besides maybe a true dominant #1 receiver, the free safety position might be the one position that would improve our team the most if we had a real star to fill it. You see what great safeties can do to a defense when you look at Darren Sharper, Troy, and Ed Reed. If we had an absolute stud back there... I drool thinking about how much better our young corners would be, and how much better overall our pass defense would be.

Also with Thomas, the guy can play corner too. He's that good in coverage. That kind of versatility is important. I'm not saying that he's going to be Troy or Reed, but if he or Eric Berry was the next Troy Polamalu, I'd rather take them than an OLB prospect who was the next Damarcus Ware.

Eric Berry is 210 lbs., Thomas weighed in at the combine at 208. 218 lbs is a little heavy. Bell is 205.

Oh, I saw a scouting profile of him that listed him at like 190 something. I guess 208 is right where it's supposed to be, but why do they keep saying that this guy's a little undersized. He's 5'11 I believe. Are they referring to his height?

yes..it is hard to find accurate info on him...especially from NFL.com...I don't even know if he competed in the vertical and other tests bc they don't even list him in the top performers for anything even though he ran a 4.4 40.

He gained 10 lbs from his college playing weight and some sites say he is 5'10 and some 5' 10 1/2 or 5'11"

He even benched more than Berry by 3 or 4 reps and ran about the same.

Berry is listed as 5'11 and 6' so an inch or inch and a half is not that big a deal. Especially if he has a decent vertical which I'm sure he does.

Thanks Monty, I was gonna point out that Crohns is by no means minor, you can end up with a bag and last time I checked, I've never seen anyone on the gridiron with a bag.

were not taking McClain. Crohns is just the icing on the cake. He is a Slow, system player, we already have Dansby and about 5 or 6 other major holes to fill.

Oh and by the way, so I dont contradict myself in 2 posts; I could see us taking an ILB early to pair with Karlos, and Mclain may be good enough at 12.....but the Crohns thing is scaring me, thats all.
