I was hoping somebody posted this...I am not an "insider".
I dont know what to think of this. Parcells never drafts WR's in the 1st round (Kraft made him pick Glenn).
That would be very out of the norm. Im losing faith in Mays, I would love Spiller...he is a game changer. But I still feel WR and defense are our priorities.
I doubt a reciever would be the pick if Parcells sticks around. I remember an old keshawn quote about parcells. too paraphrase he said that parcells feels all WR's are premadonnas that are all in the end interchangeable and he puts no faith in them.
I'd be afraid of spending our first rounder pick on a guy who was hurt his entire last college season with a knee injury. Parcells doesn't like injured players. So I doubt we take the OK TE (hope not anyway).

Hard to argue with the statement.
- Problem is that it seems to come with the territory, cocky arrogant but makes the plays.
- Its the team that can manage the ego that has it working for them despite the primadonna personna.
There were haowever days when top flight WRs were not that way.
Jerry Rice, Paul Warfield, Dolphin's Marks Brothers come to mind.
The only one That pops in my mind today that is elite and you don't hear the mouth from is Wes Welker
Golden Tate tops my list, I hate ND just like I hate the steelers. I dislike the little squat WR the steelers have, Hines Ward. Tate reminds me of Ward. Cocky arrogant little prick that you hate unless he plays for you. I would no mind having him on the phins.

Larry Fitzgerald is an elite WR and you don't hear him running his mouth. Andre Johnson is an elite WR and he does not run his mouth. Calvin Johnson is on his way to becoming an elite WR and you don't hear him running his mouth.
I have such a love/hate relationship with mock drafts. On one hand it is so much fun to speculate, but on the other hand, nobody has any F'ing idea what they are talking about...go compare McSham and Mel "I'm a douchebag with stupid hair" Kiper's mocks vs what really happened.
And for the record, I treat all mock draft "experts" with equal disdain.
To be a true draft "expert" not only would you have to scout every single NCAA draft eligible player, but you would have to analyze each team's offensive and defensive philosophy, balance that with the position needs, take into account personal bias (like BP and WRs), look ahead at each team's schedule, take into account division rivals, and basically read the minds of all coaches and front office personnel....
...the list goes on.
Guys, to be honest, I'm a jackpot lottery expert.
No seriously...I can shit out a few random numbers every few days and as long as I have a platform where I can reach millions of ears, I'd be an "expert".
Remember that the Trifecta spent a chunk of time flying around last spring to have Chad Henne throw to Darrius Heyward-Bey, Kenny Britt, and Hakeem Nicks, among others. And remember, Parcells hates to fly. They were very seriously considering a WR with their first round pick, regardless of what people think Parcells would or wouldn't do. If the right WR is there in round 1, they'll take him.
The thing I love about Golden Tate is how he fights for the football.

CB was a huge need as well. And this was a horrible year for corners. The majority of the top ranked corners were small and/or slow. I think they took a risk that they had to grab Davis because he was arguably the best combo of CB size and speed in the entire draft. He was too good to pass up at that point. And they hoped one of the top 6 or 7 WR would fall to them in round 2. They didn't. And then I think they misread rounds 2 and 3. No way was Patrick Turner going to be a 3rd rd pick. But, right before our pick, there was a run on receivers, especially big ones. And I think they reached. Had this draft had more corners with some size and speed, I think we would have taken Nicks or Britt. But, when Davis was still on the board, they had to grab him.
Gilyard is likely the best WR but won't be there when we pick. I would rather take Gerhart & pick up a WR in FA like Braylon Edwards, Miles Austin, Vincent Jackson, Steve Breaston

Gerhart in the wildcat formations could be interesting. But we have too many running backs to even consider drafting one

I disagree with this. RB could be a major need in the draft. Ricky says he is retiring after the 2010 season. Ronnie could be a free agent depending on what happens with the CBA. Even if he is not a free agent, he'll be coming off his second major injury in three seasons. And a lisfranc injury is a big deal, especially for a RB. At the very least, we need to be looking for someone to groom as Ricky's replacement. In the worst scenario, we need a #1 guy to take Ronnie's place in 2010.
Cobbs is not blessed with speed or power, and he's coming off a major injury. Hilliard had those first few real good carries, but has done nothing since.
