The Jets drafted him. We draft people they turn out great and usually move on to bigger and better things. Not the Jets. Thats usually Shit creek with no paddles. Ask Aaron Rodgers what 1 season with that team does for your personal stock.

So.......now that we have Zack as our #2 I am cautiously optimistic that he could handle the ropes until TUA clears another concussion protocol. McD is not a leader of men. That much was evident in last seasons breakdown.........But he is a heck of a QB coach. He will calm Zack down and hit his reset. I think he is a very good depth signing. Something we need all along the offense.

For whatever reason - and I hope it continues indefinitely - the Jets can't seem to draft and develop a QB (nor get the best out of GB HoF vets). Geno Smith, Sam Darnold both 1st rounders and both have played much better after leaving the Jets. Hopefully Wilson follows that trend.

I'd also like to think that Wilson benefitted from a year with Sean Payton but the other side of that coin is that the Broncos didn't keep him after his one year there and instead re-signed Stidham to 2 yrs $12M.

Cautious optimism that McD will be able to coach him to be able to fill in sufficiently if needed. Trusting that Skyler Thompson was there last year was a huge misjudgment.

Good point on Geno and Sam Darnold. Zach has good size and arm strength......I think a huge upgrade over Skyler....but That bar is very low. We had nothing behind TUA. It blows my mind that Ross is OK with the job They have done . There was no good back ups at so many critical posistions.....special Teams is ranked 31st in the NFL. This is what concerns me. We get all these great players but ignore the basics. Trenches' ST.... we did just get a punter in FA. Get back to basics. Run thr ball , blocking. Field position. Why cant Ross see this?

I am happy with this signing. The young man has potential and most likely will be leading this team when glass skull goes down for concussion #6. Inevitable.

He's nothing more than a bridge QB when they clean house and blow things up next season. There's absolutely nothing to be excited about a developmental backup QB. He's on his 3rd team for a reason.

We don't have the luxury to develop a #2 when our starter is an injury waiting to happen.
