Miami is bad.........but the Patriots are worse. Despite themselves Miamis defense and a decent running game got us a W against a piss poor Patriots team. SAD.
Wright looks great. We get a competant Oline he can move the chains. Trade Achane if they can get Oline help. Hes too light to play RB. Hes the TUA of RBs.........
As much as I love seeing the Jests lose, I wasn’t particularly happy to see that van Ginkel got a 60+ yd pick-6 while donning the jersey of another team.
To be fair though, the dude DOES look like an actual Viking.
The game was uninteresting to watch. Penalties galore stopped any gains for both teams. It was a match of ineptness. Missing a 26 yard field goal with no wind to account for...ooops. The toe down in the end zone, not the whole foot was a surprise no TD for the Patriots. I thought two toes down were enough to get a completion if it was in fair territory. Here there was a complete foot and a toe. Hmmm.
Largely a very unremarkable win but better than a loss.

Dolphins had luck on their side today......I thought the same as you....That was a TD. It was called also. That was reversed quick so it was apparent he didn't have it. The way it was explained on air......Side lines it can be a toe . Side of the end zone same thing......2 toes. But the back of the end zone you need to get both feet in or drag that second one across. You can see clearly his toe was in and his heel went out of bounds . Lucky ass break!!
We lost this game several times......JC said it best "They wanted to lose more then us. We tried but they sucked more.
It's a win for us fans. McD finally did what we've all been calling for the whole season:
- ran the ball, stayed committed
- threw to Jonnu Smith
- used a QB who's at least somewhat competent...and played a bit to his strengths with running. He didn't get a ton of rush yards, but moved a bit to throw...and the threat of running seemed to open up a couple things in the pass game
But, alas, we ultimately lose cuz it's not good if the head coach is playing catch up to the fan base in terms of which levers to pull for even a bit of success.
Well, it makes me sick that Van Ginkle has scored as many touchdowns as our entire offense has- and his TD was the winning points. A guy that makes plays EVERY week, and frequently game-changing plays. But, WE didn't need him.

Colonel, remember what John Madden said- " One Knee Equals Two Feet". Name of one of his books, in which he explains that if you're a one who might be impacted by the rule, you have to have both feet completely inbounds- or your knee. The receiver only had one-and-a-half feet inbounds. Incomplete.
Miami is a train wreck this season. Having talent at multiple positions that isn't on the field is useless. Parting ways with fragile players is a must.
I totally agree that letting Gink go was so asinine. It's Chris Grier that needs to go, this team cannot get to the next level with his draft, trade, and personnel contract decisions.
As a Miami fan I am at the point where I could care less about NFL football this season and have zero interest in it. Zero.
JC, if you were around in those days(and I was, and I think that you were, too) you'd be crazy NOT to be a Csonka fan. He was a great fullback( and a nice man!), but fullbacks were also running backs (witness Brown, Zonk, Franco, Nagursky, Motley, Allstot, Riggins, Taylor, Osbourne, and SO MANY others) in those days. And, as far as I'm concerned, every team in the league should have a fullback! Of course, this crop of owners has screwed up the game so badly and in so many ways that it isn't the same game anymore.
Yes I was around, 4545. I just loved watching csonka take the ball and be an absolute lock to gain a few yards.
I had a Topps card of him (imagine a traditional baseball card but with football players) and in his picture he was posing holding a football. But his forearms were so huge you couldn’t even see the ball in the photo—just his forearms.
The closest we had to csonka after he retired was Lousaka Polite. Who had a damn near perfect conversion rate on third or fourth down short yardage situations.
You know who was a heck of a Fullback but refused to play the position? Tim Tebow. I watched him shred a very good Dolphins defense live back in the day when he was on the Broncos. He wanted to be a QB and that's it. Its too bad we couldn't have had him around in a back up position.....but he wouldn't have it. Starting QB or quit. Shame. I agree that position made the game exciting now its just a blocking position . Basically a smaller agile Lineman.
OH, Tebow did plenty of FB type plays while a QB at UF.
1st and goal at the 3 Yd Line? No problem, He'd just lower his shoulder and smash through the defensive line into the EZ.
I remember the thinking at the time was that he should have become a TE or WR (would have been cool, given our history with hybrid type players such as Jim Jensen and Marlin Briscoe ) but I guess it wasn't in the cards.
At least he is keeping busy with broadcasting/motivational speaking/charity work and a few other things.
He was a NY Met for a while. The Mets training facility is up here and I got to meet him a few times. An outstanding individual. Really helped the community.
Greer loves stats. Lean and mean......fast. Hes not a football oriented guy. This is not a track team and tricking people and doging is cool.....but this is a contact sport. He needs to draft some beef. Look at Archane. Fast as F......but hes out hurt every 2-3 games and hes not moving the chains on 3 and a few. Ricky Williams and Ronnie Brown......with some big dudes up front remember TimRuddy? Jake long, Vernon Cary.....we had some muscle .....defenses had to prepare.
I don't understand the owners of today- If we needed a first down, Lou Polite would get us one. He was, if I remember correctly, 19 of 20 on first down attempts. But, I guess if you miss one you get cut. This was another of the personnel moves (I don't remember which coach did it) that perplexed me. We could sure use him now.

dolphan4545: we do have a good fullback - Ingold, but he is hardly used in the offense, except for blocking. He has done pretty well anytime they give him the ball, whether it be running or pass catching.
I completely agree, Alex Ingold is a good player, regardless of his one mistake today, he's usually a dependable blocker, ball carrier, and pass catcher. Which probably means that his days in Miami are numbered. Disturbing.
