I read TUA said get him Devonte Smith or he wants a trade. He demanded to be in the war room during the draft.....

Astro, you stated exactly what I was thinking. Look at Dallas now that their line isn't what it was 4 years ago. No one talks about Zek the way they did when he first was drafted. He had one of the best lines ever for his first 2 years.

Absolutely! I made that up because alot can be said for a good attitude and a team first mentality. TUA has that in spades. Enough to deserve a chance to put this awful 2020 season behind him with no team practices or pre season and a chance to prove himself with a bunch of new talent around him .

If we sell the house and barn for a Watson trade, we'll still have to improve the supporting cast of receivers and backs along with depth on the OL. So aside from his attitude I'm against this trade for Watson because it'll hold this team back in other areas of need.
Hurt or betrayed? Sorry this isn't summer camp and he was given one of the biggest contracts in NFL history. He needs to STFU and man up. HES betraying Texas and those fans .
There's 3 or 4 very solid QB prospects in the draft. With Fitz probably not coming back it would be wise to draft a QB. Not somebody to hold a clipboard from the later rounds but someone to actually compete with Tua. Having two good QBs is not a bad thing and there is some history to support the move.
Some of you may recall when Jimmy Johnson first went to Dallas he drafted Aikman. Then he surprised everybody by drafting Steve Walsh #2 overall. After a year when Aikman finally won the starting job, Walsh was traded to The Saints for a 1st and a 3rd.
Tua DOES NOT have that "can't miss" label, not by a long shot.
If we can get Watson for Tua the #3 and Jones we should do it. Qb, swap and big contract swap. Watson is tired of the incompetence in HOU. Its business Andre Johnson called playing for the organization 'a career killer'. JJ Watts is in his corner, that is enough for me.
I say don't trade for Watson using draft picks. It took to much to get the draft capitol we have to just throw it away.
I would be open to drafting Fields at #3 or as Mizzou15 said trading Tua and Jones for Watson.
Just ran a simulated draft and here are the results.
#18 Kwit Paye Edge Michigan
#19 Najee Harris RB Alabama
#36 Rondale Moore WR Purdue
#59 Landon Dickerson C Alabama
#81 Jaylen Twyman DT Pittsburgh
#103 Aashari Crosswell S Arizona St
#115 Adrian Ealy OT Oklahoma
#167 Darius Stills DT West Virginia
and
2022 Carolina 1st
2022 Washington 1st
2022 Cincinnati 4th
Yes I traded back twice in the first round, first with Carolina then with Washington....I filled needs and added more draft capitol for next year
I hadn't thought about trading Watson from the Texans' perspective. They project to be about $18M over the cap in 2021 as it currently stands.
If they trade him before June 1 and don't designate him a post-June 1 trade, they lose another $5.66M from their salary cap space. If they designate him post June 1, they gain over $10M, so maybe that's what they'd do.
Byron Jones' cap hit is $16.1M in 2021, and of that, $14M is his guaranteed salary and the rest is bonus already paid, so my guess is their cap hit would be $14M for him.
I'm sure the capologists would be able to make it work somehow, but it's not as attractive as picks, financially. That said - early 1st rounders are still expensive with #3 overall last year being about $8M/yr.
Number 1, his contract is too high. Number 2, Miami needs those draft picks to help upgrade and also fill the holes. 3. Not sure if Flores would be willing to bring Watson's attitude to Miami. Something doesn't go his way, and Watson is off to the races.
I have to admit.....when I first heard this I thought it was just a crybaby tantrum.
Still do.....but it may actually be happening. Some pretty legit sources have said Watson won't ever play another down in Texas.
The Jets have offered everything but the kitchen sink. This makes the most sense for the Texans they get a boatload picks, a chance at another QB and Sam Darnold.
The thing is.....its not up to them. Watson has a no trade clause. Which means he decides where he wants to go. Texans have to agree.
He doesn't want anything to do with the Jets. (No one does). Reportedly Miami is his agenda.
This could be more then just off season fodder.....
I just read that several league sources are reporting that the Texans wouldn't be interested in Tua as part of a trade deal. What that means is that if Miami really wants Watson it would probably require this years two firsts and next year's first round pick.
So 3 1st round picks? LOL Sorry but that is too much. No 1sts for two years isn't worth it IMO. If the Dolphins really want another QB that bad then draft another one this year.

Not only Miami's 3 first round picks, but I have read that Houston would want Howard as part of that deal.
As I said in an earlier post, Watson isn't the answer for Miami to get to the playoffs; they must get some immediate starters, at the least. Miami has too many holes that they need to fill.
Watson is a good QB, not doubting that, but his contract, along with the picks/players, would kill Miami's chances of getting a couple of blue chippers that can help Miami immediately.
1 Aaron Rodgers GB *
2 Patrick Mahomes KC *
3 Josh Allen BUF *
4 Ryan Tannehill TEN
5 Ryan Fitzpatrick MIA *****
6 Drew Brees NO
7 Lamar Jackson BAL
8 Russell Wilson SEA
9 Tom Brady TB *
10 Baker Mayfield CLE
11 Derek Carr LV
12 Deshaun Watson HOU
13 Justin Herbert LAC
14 Kyler Murray ARI
This both makes your point and goes against it Samsam. 1,2,3,& 9 are still in the playoffs. Our guy is 5 and we missed it. Yes you need very good QB to win it all. But it takes a lot more than a great QB.
Sorry but i disagree...the qbs i mention are 4 of the best in the nfl....thats what matters.
The rating has a a lot to do with different things....when tannehill was here he got a lot of yards in garbage time and kept the ball until he got sacked and didnt throw ints because of that....so ratings dont matter much.

RE: He's a true malcontent. Sure people deserve respect but respect is never demanded. Instead its earned. People need to understand a lot more often where there lane is, and stay in it.
And how do we know that Watson was not asked who he wanted for GM? Because he said so? Maybe he was, and the team didn't like his suggestion. He was asked who he wanted to be the head coach, that's been reported and he wanted Biennemy, Now they are trying to hire him he says it wont matter....he's just selfish, spoiled and feels entitled.
