Pass Rush could be better for sure , I didn't say it was good. I said "admirably." They did sack Allen , hurried him a a bunch of times.....The problem was even when we had him at 3rd and 24 yds Our Corners let them complete 1st downs. It was horrible. We have 2 #1s next draft.......We pick the best defensive player with #1 or 2 depending on where we draft. We have to give TUA the defense Dan Marino never had.
GO DOLPHINS!!!!

I think, as you laid out, that confidence has different facets. Confidence in your own ability...confidence in your teammates' abilities...confidence in coaching, whether scheme or playcall.
Pre-injury, Jones had allowed a passer rating of about 72.
Howard has not remotely resembled a shut-down corner yet, and I have to assume a good portion of that is confidence in himself coming out of injury (can I stay healthy, can I break and burst when I need to, etc.)
Although neither has been spectacular by any stretch, I think both McCain and Rowe have been more part of the solution than the problem.
Igbonoghene and Needham have both looked like weak links thusfar. I think it has a good bit to do with the rotation with Jones' injury and their youth. Iggy was to be our primary slot corner and Needham spent last year playing the boundary. Now, they're switched for the time being. I'm not sure the results would have been much different, but I wonder what would have happened had Boyer kept Iggy in the slot and put Needham on the boundary.
While I noted that having a new d-coordinator w/o a real preseason is a challenge, Boyer specifically has focused a great deal of his career on cornerbacks while collaborating with Flores. And, with X coming back from injury but being mentally in the system for over a year and the safeties both in yr 2, I would not have thought this would be the area where coaching would look suspect early on.
