Thanks for sticking around Fins72, your opinion is obviously well respected around here and we value your presence.

Just want to address something from your most recent post:

I wasn't the one who brought him up in this thread, but I can say why I think his name is relevant for discussion here: you'd mentioned that he isn't on an NFL roster. That is true, but I recall past discussions of his name being mentioned as a possible free agent signing. While I don't think he's *currently* a major candidate for our roster, the fact that we are currently carrying only two QBs on our roster (one who is injured) might bring his name into discussion. It's a very unlikely scenario....but unlikely scenarios about our roster are not forbidden topics.

Another reason why Colin K might be currently discussed is the very topic of this thread: How our team conducts themselves during the National Anthem before a Dolphins football game. We all know Colin's role in flag protests--he is credited with starting that entire movement in the NFL.

And finally, Colin K once wore a T-Shirt with Fidel Castro's picture on it, and was quoted saying positive things about Castro. I believe it was around the time of Castro's death. I don't think I need to tell anyone why that is relevant to the Miami Dolphins, but just in case: the large Cuban-American community in S. Florida wasn't too happy about someone praising Castro. You know how that story ended: Kapernick and the 49ers came to town to play against the Phins, our fans boo him relentlessly, Kapernick scrambles to attempt a game-tying touchdown run towards the end of the game, and is stopped by none other than Kiko Alonso, who just happened to be a Cuban-American linebacker for the Miami Dolphins.

And I agree with you about that. Flag protests are an on field issue, in my opinion. Before the kickoff, but on the field. As I said earlier, there's some overlap here.

Potential roster moves, also valid IMO. And team history as well.

Others have addressed a couple other points I will not repeat here, as I've gone on long enough already.

Go Phins, lets get a win tomorrow against the Bills!

Thank you for explaining that jc. You are correct...

100 percent correct.

He started the whole disrespecting thing by kneeling while the anthem was on. Thats why i hope no nfl team ever hires him ever again.

Let kapernick go kneel and distespect the anthem in cuba and get his head chopped off by the authorities over there.

Thats what he deserves.

Respect the best country in the world and all their heroes or get the f out...

Go phins.

JC, this will be my last post on the subject. First off, I appreciate that we can discuss the topic in an intelligent and respectful way. Some on this board seem to have an inability to do this. I will only say that we can agree to disagree about whether this thread relates to Dolphins football. I'd quote Colonel who expressed it pretty much as I interpret Curt's rules and I quote one of his posts:

"There are many things that cause most of us to be upset about social activities around the country. I personally could write a book about it, but not here on this forum. We must abide by the rules of engagement and stick to commentary about the actual play on the field...."

"Actual play on the field" is the operative phrase. Perhaps there could be some separate section on the board for those that want to discuss their indignation about what the players do while not on the field actually playing the game.

I will no longer beat a dead horse and will take the suggestion made by one poster about using the block feature of the board. Whenever someone brings up a subject that I consider to be unrelated to the Miami Dolphins or that I find incendiary, I will simply block that poster. Now, hopefully we will have a victory to discuss on Monday.

I’m done talking about it too.

Gave you the last word

Closing thread and damn I’m mad that we lost today.

Sorry, you can't reply to this topic. It has been closed.
