This is a moderated phorum for the CIVILIZED discussion of the Miami Dolphins. In this phorum, there are rules and moderators to make sure you abide by the rules. The moderators for this phorum are JC and Colonel.
This Sunday at 1 pm eastern, Miami confronts a Brady less team in it's 1st game of 2020. I plan to tune in despite not watching the Texans and Chief's game this past Thursday night.
My interest in NFL football has waned because of the politics. I'll watch the Dolphins and forego most of the other games on Sunday, Monday and Thursday night this season.
As a proud military retiree standing for the Star Spangled Banner and the American Flag is as normal as getting up in the morning. It's a must do for me. Old Glory waves at my home everyday as a tribute to the soldiers, sailors, airmen and coast guardsmen that formerly served and who have sacrificed much so the Stars and Stripes can wave representing the US of America and it's people.

Right? They were really off. Breida did much better IMO but for now he's just a 3rd down option.
Fitz always starts off slow. No Preseason hurt him. I'm not worried about him. Flores needs to get more disapline though. Baker was penalized over 40 yds.really stupid decisions.
Leading up to the game, I was thinking that NE would use the ground game as their primary weapon against us...I just didn't think we'd be that bad at defending it. It will be interesting to see what kinds of adjustments are made because BUF is similarly set up with an athletic QB who's a dangerous runner, too. Their OL probably isn't quite as good as NE's, but their receivers are better.
I was encouraged by our OL in their first game together. Fitzpatrick was only sacked once with 4:09 left in the game when we were a one-dimensional passing team trying to catch up. I don't remember him being consistently heavily pressured, harassed or hit like was the case for much of last year. I know you can't really do this, but for perspective's sake, if you remove Howard's 0.9 YPC (the vast majority of which came on our 1st 2 series), the run game generated 80 yards on 19 carries for 4.2 YPC.
With over 1/2 our starters either being new to the team or having missed significant time last year (in the 2nd half of the season when things started coming together) and no preseason, I think I knew we'd experience some early growing pains.
I couldn't watch the game where I live but that's okay, I didn't expect any miracles. This season is really weird to begin with without any pre-season games to evaluate players.
"Cam Newton should have been grinning from ear to ear Sunday after leading the Patriots to a 21-11 win over the Miami Dolphins in his New England debut.C
Instead, cameras caught the 31-year-old quarterback exchanging heated words with several Dolphins players after the final whistle and his teammates escorting him off the field as he continued to jaw at his opponents.
So, what had Newton so hot and bothered? Apparently a Dolphins player tried to rip the gold chain from his neck."
I saw the video after the game. You can see Defensive Lineman Christian Wilkins and Raekwon Davis grabbing at Newton's chain.
Coach Flores better ring the team in. They looked like hooligans punks and thugs. Wilkins was ejected last year for fighting. Baker with the late hits on the QB and receiver out of bounds cost us any chance of coming back to win.
Child-like behavior defeats team unity on the field. It produces outcasts, and doubt about everyone pulling together for the common goal and good.
In Baker's case, his pursuit was great but his last second effort wasn't right. He needs to keep that in check.
Taunting crap between opposing players encourages stupid acts that can and will hurt the team's progress. They need to be smarter about the antics of Cam Newton and other prima donnas and not be baited to act dumb as &^% during or after the game. Beating the opposing team with a handful of prima donnas on it is the way to stop their taunting. Dolphins players must show more discipline and common sense. Coaching must toughen up and pound this into their actions.

100%. especially with such a young team. These are literally kids 22-23 yrs old. What do you think Belichick would do to Baker? Flores should know better working under him for so long.
