Interesting insight from D Captain Devin McCourty after the game

....if I heard him correctly, that is. It was late. (skip to my final paragraph if you don't want to read what led up to it).

After every Pats game broadcast in Boston the local channel runs a show called the Fifth Quarter. As is the case with the local sports talk radio, I tune in when the Pats lose to the Dolphins but also had to watch last night for obvious reasons.

I was still giddy from the game outcome when I saw Bellicheat do his normal dismissive mumbling press conference (it is always funny).

Then I saw Brady wearing a PLAIN SKI CAP (doesn't he usually wear a Pats cap after the game? not sure because I usually avoid watching the local press kiss his ass). I thought that might be some sort of message that he wasn't wearing a hat with the Patsies logo, as if he were really done with this team.

Anyway, the worthwhile part of the press conference was when Devin McCourty took the podium. I don't believe I'd ever heard him being interviewed before, but he was definitely the most professional and articulate speaker of the three (which is not difficult to accomplish...BB has the charm of a slug, and Brady...well.). He spoke like a team leader, unlike the other two--I guess that's why he's Captain.

McCourty was asked about the overall strategy vs Tannehill. It might have been the only question of the press conference that didn't ask "what are you going to do next year" and actually addressed the game that'd just ended.

McCourty's reply was that they played to 'force the run.' In other words, they knew Tannehill was a passing threat, so they wanted to use formations to encourage the Titans to run the ball. Obviously that wasn't a great strategy as Henry racked up 182 yards, but it may explain part of the reason why the Titans didn't attempt more passes. That, and Henry was so damn successful they were happy to keep running the ball.

I read some news today that Brady lowered the asking price on their mansion.

I can't believe that a group of intellectually challenged investors clad in Patriots sweats carrying an extra large iced 'coffee' (85% milk, 15% weak coffee from Dunkin Donuts) in the middle of winter in a plastic cup surrounded by a styrofoam cup

--Note to all who reside outside of New England: the above is a description of a textbook Patriots fan--

hasn't pooled their funds already and presented an offer at 10% *above* asking price under the condition that Brady will show up to the closing to sign autographs and pose for selfies.

Edited to correct "of" vs "above"
