Fun to watch cause that's all we'll get to do as he is out of reach and that's a good thing. Never reach for a player. Ditka type moves are foolish.
I hope we don't gamble on a QB in round 1 period. More pressing needs and this is a multi year rebuild. Trade down no. 5 if you can still get that stud LT, DE, etc. Load up next years war chest more.

Welcome AFC beast!!!!! You are 100% correct! Burrows is a monster, but moving up to get him is foolish.
Just who is talking about MOVING UP to get him?????????????????????????
Right now there are four teams with a poorer won lost record and thus have a higher draft position (all things being equal and not considering trades or draft picks already sold away).
That gives us number 5.
Hopefully all those four ahead of us are thinking like Treasure. Hatin on quarterbacks that is.

Treasure - Burrows seems to be the best QB for the 2020 draft, but give up all of Miami's #1s and possibly a #2? I wouldn't make that deal. Miami has way too many holes to fill to give up draft picks.
If Miami is to grab a QB, I would take that QB with my second pick (#18). There are some good reports on the other three top QBs on the list (not including Tua) that Miami can work with. Naturally, they have issues, but could sit and learn from Fitz then maybe take over in 2021. I'm still curious about Rosen, tho. Flores keeps talking about how well Rosen is practicing and studying. But, he never put Rosen back in. I can't get a grasp of what Flores is thinking.
As for Tua, there are still "experts" out there who are projecting Tua to Miami. 1. How well did his hip heal? 2. Concern over his injury history, i.e., ankles and hip. 3. He may not declare, instead, choosing to return to Alabama as he and his agent would be well aware that he will not go as high as he would have if he didn't suffer that hip injury. Is he injury prone?

Oh I'm with you. 100% BUT there are many that said Miami has to pick a QB.
Just a few short months ago It was Burrows or Tua.
Now Tuas out. At least as far as a 1st rounder is concerned. Then after that performance....being Devils advocate.......if your looking for a sure thing in the first round , does it get any clearer then Burrows?
That was my only point. And if hes that much of a sure thing my point was is he worth our 1st round bounty......IF they give us a second rounder. Not give them one.
That would give us A legitimate contender, and still have 3 2nd rounders to beef up the Oline, and next years 2 1st rounders.
Just throwing that out for argument sake......I think Burrows is that good. That's all.

No way in hell should we trade our whole first round for Burrows. We have holes everywhere. One supposedly sure first pick (Q won't do anything if he is getting killed because he is not upright.
I would choose YOUNG if I made the decision, and Young may be the first pick no matter what the media is telling us, they are just trying to sell stories.
Burrows still may be around when we are on the clock, Cincinnati may choose a different path.
Brady looks average now because of a bad offensive line, Tannehill looks good behind a good line. Yes we should draft a QB, IMO Rosen is still in play unless I hear something diffent.
If I was our GM depending on who went in the first 4 picks I would take Isiah Simmons (safety/LB hybrid from Clemson) he is the player we tried to make Minkah Fitzpatrick into.
Wow if CIN chooses a different path that would be interesting, dumb on their part but interesting. The next 3 teams (WA, DET, NYG) have starting qbs in place. Lots of scrambling for trades for Burrows.
Currently I have Simmons at #1 in my Phins mock.
1 Simmons S/OLB
1 Chaisson DL/OLB
1 Henderson CB
2 Becton T
2 Hurts QB
3 Mcoy C
Simmons/Chaissons combo would be great for handling the modern spread offenses more teams are running. Both guys are good ball hunters that can get to any point of the field.
Henderson and Howard would give us shut down corners on both sides of the field.
Mizzou15: love your draft... I would put Tyler Biadasz (C) Wisconsin in for our first pick of second round, he is a beast and hope we get him. Then get a (T) with either of the next two picks. Not sold on Hurts but he is solid and we do need to draft a QB at some time.
I think Biadasz goes in the first. If he is there at #2 yeah I would take him over a QB. If that is the case I would actually consider not picking a qb in rounds 1-3 of this draft. Maybe trading a couple back into the 4th round and draft a guy like Stanley (IA) or Patterson (MI). We still have Rosen so in that scenario we wait until 2021 to draft a qb high.
Im sold on Hurts it goes unnoticed what he did by taking 2 different teams to the BCS playoffs. Not sure anyone has done that before. Guy has the arm, head, maturity and leadership capabilities to make it in the nfl. With Tua out I have him at #2 qb behind Burrow. Herbert has too many periods of inconsistency in games for me. I would take Hurts or Eason at our 2A spot. Im not sure where the hell the talk regarding the Phins grabbing Love in the first is coming from. That guy looked like crap this year. He needs to return to school and play like he did in 2018.
I admit I am not sold on Hurts because of the Oklahoma system, but you make good points. I only watched him a few times and he looked good, except against LSU where he looked lost. (but so did everyone on Oklahoma)
The talk out of NE is just talk because they know Brady can't play forever and they need a replacement. I have even heard that Brady would come down to Miami because he sold his house in NE and is personal trainer did too.
Every draft "expert" says we need 2 WR this year and they were our best unit. SMH
The funny thing about all this draft speculation is we could draft - Dan Marino (Q Pittsburgh knowing what he turned into and some people would say "He had a terrible Senior year, he is not mobile and was linked to drug use." I would rather have _________ (you fill in the blank)
I would trade up for Marino, not sure I would trade up for any other QB that ever played with our O-line.
Speaking of O-lines.... Dallas spent $54 million on their O-line , most of any team, and they have three player that have been to the pro bowl 5 times apiece. That's why a decent QB and RB look so good.
I agree. No way would I behind trading our 1st rounders . HOWEVER many feel we must take a QB in the 1st round. My point was the only 1st round QB worth it will be Burrows. And it will take moving to #1 to get it. And we have what it takes to get there .
Id much prefer Chase Young who declared eligible for the draft today. But he wont last to #5 either.
That leaves us building up the trenches for Fitz. I think that's the direction we go.

Well what do you think we should do then?
I'll admit I'm kinda up in the air here at the QB position now.
I'm just not committed to anyone or any direction .
I was Positive Tannehill just needed help. I was passionate about it.
Now....I'm just kind of listening to everyone's perspective. I think Fitz has alot of gas left in the tank. And I think Chan Gailey signals they are going in that direction.
But I'm not committed to anything. Except That Burrows is a Stud. But we are not getting him .
I'm not going to say no to TUA , or anyone at #5 becuase we have options. We can afford an overdraft at #5 becuase we have 2 other picks.
So What's your plan Ken if you want Fitz out? Rosen? That's another direction I'm not sure about.
Wow. I will admit to not watching enough college football to have a valid opinion, but he certainly had an impressive comeback performance against Clemson. I was impressed.

I'm not sure I can agree with this. Yes it cost us draft spots but I think it shows the future free agents out there that Miami might be a good place to go. It showed that even with nothing Flores did what he could to win and Miami wants to be a winner. Now.
