Do we need to trade up to take Burrow? Being from Ohio would the bengals even consider?

Do we drop down, get an extra pick or 2 and take Tua, Hurts, Fromm, Herbert, Love??

Do we go after Bridgewater, Carr, or Winston ?

jlyell13, Yes, we would need to trade up to get Burrow, but if I were Grier, I would not do that. Miami has way too many holes to fill to lose any draft pick(s). Besides, I highly doubt Cincy would do that, as they benched Dalton and started Finley. Last week they put Dalton back in there and they decided Finley is not the guy. They get the number one pick, and Burrow will be their guy. Although it could happen, that Cincy trades the pick, but it would have to be a hell of a trade and Cincy has their eye on another QB.

From what I have been seeing/hearing, the QBs that will be in the 2020 draft have not performed well or not performed with consistency (Burrow the exception).

But, we all know how things go with the NFL in drafting QBs higher than they should be.

Bingo Cap. I'm not against picking a QB in the first round mostly because we can afford it with 3 picks . However I am saying please make sure this is our guy and not just someone to put up against Rosen for competition. Dont waste a 1st rounder unless you are sure this is our future.I dont see that in anyone but Burrows. And Cincy needs a QB worse then we do.
Before Tua was hurt the conversation was always Burrows/Tua. NOT ,Burrows, Tua,Fromm etc......so now that Tua is gone these desperate for Dan Marino light have switched to any QB available.

Pathetic. Stop it. WE HAVE OPTIONS. Rosen is a first rounder and Fitz is playing at a very high level with no oline.

It's not a do or die desperate move to get a QB in the first round but like I said......we can afford it so , do your diligence and pick a winner if you must.

GO DOLPHINS!!!!

JC, read the above.

I am reposting it here to reply to your post in a different thread.

When I tried to copy it FOR THAT THREAD the blank out function came out.

Treasure is clearly saying that we should not use our very, very, very, very, FIRST pick on a QB unless it's Burrows, but not Fromm or any of the other QBs projected for the 1st round.

As he has long advocated, trade that high first pick for something lower in the first round PLUS additional later round picks.

Unless Tua passes all tests I think most agree dont take a QB with the first pick. Unless they feel Herbert is legit. I haven't seen it. But he is Josh Allen like ?

Hurts has tremendous #'s a bit Lamar Jackson Cam Newton like. Jordan Love could be another sleeper

We've had Griese and Marino. We need another GREAT QB badly. Even Marino, who was a better passer than Griese, couldn't do it alone without a good defense around him.

What you guys are recommending is get the great surrounding cast and then get the great QB. Nothing wrong with that reasoning EXCEPT it takes a long time to build the surrounding cast and in the meantime, great QBs are coming and going.

I want Burrow, if we can’t get him without a trade then I say draft BPA that isn’t a QB with our first pick and then if he’s there grab Hurts with our second pick.

The only change I’d make is if the coaches and GM really love another QB with our first pick. In that case I’d go with him.

RESPONSE; No, you don't draft a QB every year but if you NEED a franchise QB. AND IT JUST SO happens that you have a top 5 pick.....it's crazy not to use it on QB but instead to trade back to pick up a lineman plus an additional 6th or 7th round pick.

Bottom line is that you Treasure just don't believe in drafting a QB with a top 5 1st round pick.

Tom Brady was a 7th rounder but counting on that is like spending your mortgage or rent on a lotto ticket.
