Can't figure it out. Treasure comes from New Yawk, the biggest city in the nation which is half a continent away from Big Springs High School where Tannehill graduated from.

I, on the other hand, was born and raised in Lawton Oklahoma, only a hundred miles or so away from Big Springs High School and Texas A & M.,where Tanny went to college and I am willing to move on from Tannehill but the New Yawker is not willing to move on. I can only think that it is because of that jersey he brought.

Tannehill wasnt as bad as some think. He just didnt had the talent around him that you need to excell. But i understand where some of you are coming from.

You want a qb that dominates. I do too.

In this day and age you need a qb that dominates expecially these days that they have such rules against defenders. Qbs get away with so much. These days would be the perfect time to have a qb that dominates.

Well, Rg, I was trying to figure out why he so stubbornly holds on to his position that Tannehill was a good (I say even good because no way even HE could call Tannehill great) QB when he was here the first time.

When he was here, I made an excuse for Tannehill myself. When I saw him play here at Miami (I didn't follow him in college). The main phrase that came to my mind was "a deer in the headlights."

I asked myself "Why does a quarterback who has made it to the pros freeze the moment the ball is snapped and he is in the pocket?? Moreover, why does he just stand there until someone sacks him???."

So I researched his college and high school teams and the schemes they ran. From my research, which maybe was defective, he always was in a read option scheme. In that format, as a QB, you take the snap and either shift it to the running back or pass it to a receiver who has, by that time, made it downfield. Cam Newton like.

That seemed to explain the "deer in the headlight" look Tanny had whenever there was a passing play and he was in a traditional pro set and in a pocket.

He just stood there looking shocked until he was sacked.

Now we must both cede the floor to Treasure who must give us all an explanation of why he thinks Tannehill who has not only bombed out here, should be pursued by us AGAIN???????

Well part of RT’s issues here were.

1. Piss poor O-Line causing RT to be under pressure in well under 2 seconds most of the time.
2. A litany of injuries to supporting players.
3. Running game very few respected.
4. No TE to speak of.
5. Coaches calling plays that take too long to develop. 3-5 seconds when only two or less is available.
6. Too much coaching turnover.
7. Too much system turnover.
8. Too many quality supporting players traded or released because of coaches petty BS.
9. Only one reliable receiver...also see #8.

This is just a partial list because there is more...and most things were well beyond RT’s (or any Qcool smiley ability to fix. It’s no surprise he’s doing better on a more solid team. Lamar Jackson or Tom Brady himself would have struggled or outright failed under the same circumstances.

Agree as to 1 through 9, Ken.

Don't agree with the last paragraph starting with "This is just a partial list.." and ending in ..."would have struggled or outright failed under the same circumstances."

Intresting. From today;

Ryan Tannehill's stellar play since taking over as the Titans starting quarterback has put him in a position for a possible franchise tag in 2020, according to sources with knowledge of the situation, with the team increasingly interested in retaining him beyond this season.

Tannehill has been a top-five quarterback in virtually every key metric since replacing former No. 2 overall pick Marcus Mariota under center, leading Tennessee to a 4-1 record and putting them in position to possibly win the AFC South. Since Tannehill took over, the Titans are averaging 50 more passing yards per game and 44 more rushing yards, with the quarterback pushing the ball deep downfield, getting multiple receivers involved and making it more difficult to load the box against star running back Derrick Henry.

A huge fan favorite with the Titans and is grossly outperforming what Mariota (who makes $21 million this season but has been benched since September), with Tannehill averaging 9.22 yards per attempt and throwing a TD on 6.5 percent of passes, to Mariota's 7.42 YPA and 4.4 TD percentage.

TEAM PLAY. A Quality Oline and running back Derrick Henry. Multiple quality recievers. TEAM WORK.

The days of Ryan Tannehill are history here. But learn from the expensive lesson. If all you needed was a great QB Marino wouldnt be the greatest QB with no wins.

GO DOLPHINS!!!!

Credit due. RT is simply not as bad as Sam and Chyren thought, or still think. He simply needed some help...that’s not a crime. Good for him that he’s playing well...

I want our guys to do the same...just play better.

Correction, Ken. I only thought he was bad in a traditional offensive scheme and not in a read option.

Absolutely Ken. That's all I'm saying. I just want Miami to use good players to their full Potential in the future .
Too many great players leave here and excell.that needs to stop. We are all looking forward to this next draft.....but what good will it do us if they all go down the road in 4yrs?

That’s why I have been saying for years now that we have to have consistency in the front office, coaching, systems, and players to the extent we can. We have to get off of the coaching carousel and stop switching every other year or three.

Winning consistently takes time, stability, repetition and continuity.

You are correct again! I was actually amazed that Tannehill used to throw for 4000 yds under such conditions. Imagine if he had a decent Oline? A defense that didnt give up in the 4th qtr.? Arunning game !? I think we will now see with Tennessee.

But looking forward I'm stoked seeing Flores get us these wins under these conditions. The players obviously respect him and want to win for him.Thats extremely encouraging for the future.

GO DOLPHINS!!!!

I have to wonder how much effect Ryan Fitzpatrick is having on the young guys on the team. "Whiskers" shows a lot of grit, IMO, and that must also have an effect on Flores and the many assistant coaches. I kind of believe there's a positive fit there.

Don't have much of an opinion on Josh Rosen though. I don't see him on the sideline sitting with "Whiskers" going over plays etc. Maybe they sit together on the plane ride home after an away game and chit chat about being a QB. Anyone think that's happening?

I think RF's will to win is rubbing off on the younger players. That and they realize if they can shine on a team that is rebuilding, that all the "experts" trashed earlier this year, they can maybe have a job next year.

That is an EXCELLENT point Colonel. He is not only showing toughness is every aspect of the game hes also showing leadership. THAT may have been Tannehills greatest downfall. He wouldn't think twice about running headfirst into a bunch of defenders but you didnt see him do much in the huddle or show much emotion.

Rosen looked much more polished then Fitz at times....smoother but when it went bad Fitz seems to have that extra step. I think with a much better Oline he could be quite good. One thing Fitz did well yesterday was throwing that ball up for grabs where only Parker could get it. Those two were in sync. Can Rosen do that? Only time will tell but I think he deserves a shot. A whole off season , Rooster improvements . Tanehill was thrown to the Wolves from day 1. Never got mentored by someone like Fitz who played everywhere , seen alot , I'd love to see another season of Rosen with Fitz whispering in his ear.........And a new OLINE.

GO DOLPHINS!!!!

No doubt Fitz has done well by us so far mostly...this from a guy who admittedly hates him as a player and thinks he has no place stinking up our team.

If rosen was playing right now.....and he was playing as good as fitzpatrick, we would all say he was the miami dolphins qb of the future.

Ain't that a blip.
