The trade deadline is coming quickly. I can see Miami trading K. Drake; not because he isn't good, but because (1) Miami has a stable of running backs, and it looks like Mark Walton has taken over the starting job, and (2) the coaching staffs from last year and this year, for some reason, don't know how to use him, or they figure he just isn't good enough.

The guy can run, he can hit the whole, and he can catch. Why the coaching staffs didn't use him, I don't know.

Anyway, he's the only Dolphin that I can see being moved.

No doubt. And with 3 #1 picks they could have thier eye on Swift out of Georgia.......

Drake evidently not traveling with the team to Pittsburgh. I am assuming that means trade is pending.

Yep, I liked Drake to. Not sure his short comings were the coaches or his. It appears this staff is ready to go forward.

Yup, an unidentified team agreed to a trade for Drake on Sat night. I'm sure it won't be long before we know what team it was.

I'm not even surprised. This has been the trend with this team so far so we'll soon see what we got for him. It's safe to guess it's for a 2020 pick but I'm not going to guess what round, but I know we got him in the 3rd round in 2016.

Salguero wrote an article stating both staffs didn't like his practice habits.

He showed flashes but at some point you need to be a professional and earn it.

Best of luck but I really don't think we're going to miss him the way Walton has been playing.

His contract was up next season so he was a gonner either way. Whatever we get (my guess is a conditional 6th rounder)is better then nothing.

Exactly!! We have undrafted walk ons that have turned out to be great players. 6-7th rounders are depth, utility and special team players that build championships.

I liked Drake to, but better to get something for him then lose him for free.

Its like if someone gave you a gift card that would expire at the end of the year or you could only spend the money on the lottery. Would you let it go to waste or take a chance?

Drake traded to the cardinals for a conditional 6th rounder that can become a 5th.

The way that kid is playing we dont need drake..

I hope he does well and stays healthy the rest of the year because a 5th rounder would be even sweeter.

The sixth round pick looks like potentially the last one in the round where as the 5th rounder would be the first or second in that round (potentially 62 slots higher)

We need to root for Drake to meet whatever clause will escalate the pick to the 5th round.

Just another chance to make this team better. That's what draft picks are. Chances. More chances are always better.

Sorry to see Drake gone...with upgraded blocking he would have been a really good back, IMHO. But given the rumored distance in contract talks I see why he’s no longer here.

You may be right, Ken, but he just wasn't used much, by either Gase or Flores. Must be something they saw that they didn't like, because Drake is a talented runner; speed, catches well, and has power, everything one would want in a RB. With the stable of running backs and the lack of playing time for Drake, it was a given he would be gone. Sorry to see him go.

Well, Drake played pretty well last night. Over a hundred yards rushing and about 60 yards receiving. Good news is that if he keeps it up, we might get a 5th rounder out of it. It's one game, though and Drake has always shown flashes but consistency and a tendency to fumble has always been his Achilles heel. We shall see.

A decent Oline doesn't hurt either. Look how well Tannehill is doing in Tenn
