Christian Wilkins is absolutely useless!!
Thank you Chris Grier for yet another 1st Round Bust!
From Ryan Tannehill, to Dion Jordan , to Charles Harris, and now Christian Wilkins.
I have NO FAITH in this front office when it comes to making draft picks.
And since that's the only way to build a successful team, we're in DEEP $#!T!!
I've never witnessed such a load of hot garbage in my life!!

Not sure what you're basing your opinion on regarding Wilkins. I've definitely not been overly impressed by him through 5 games, but I'm also not pinpointing him as a major reason the defense isn't good at this point. I think so many things have changed (defensive system, basically all coaches, players, position/role definition, strategy, injuries, trades, etc) that it's honestly been challenging for the coaches to figure out players' performance. To wit, apparently, per PFF, McMillan was the highest rated LB in the NFL thru 4 games...and he wasn't starting for us those games, if I recall correctly. I do have high hopes for Wilkins as a Phin, and, so far, he hasn't reminded me of Warren Sapp or anything...but I'm trying to give basically the whole season for things to play out on all fronts.

I am concerned about Grier having been a part of so many relatively unsuccessful drafts. The things that temper my concern are (a) I don't know what part he's actually played in picking the players, negotiating draft trades, etc. and (b) I think the Phins have been one of those teams that, for most of the last 20 years, have gotten less out of the talent on the roster than they should. I think it was Gary Stevens who said "you can't make chicken salad out of chicken $hit" but I also know it's true that you can take perfectly good chicken and make a chicken salad that tastes like $hit if you don't know what you're doing in the kitchen.

I'm basing that opinion on the fact that the only time I've heard his name called this year, was for a Personal Foul that squashed a 3 and out.

For the #13 overall pick in the draft, Wilkins should be making some kind of noticeable impact along the D-line.
For a dude that big, he's been virtually invisible.

As far as Grier goes:
Have you seen the play of TJ Watt over the last 2 years?
In case you haven't, TJ's been an absolute BEAST for the Steelers.
But, somehow in the 2017 Draft, Chris Grier's shrewd eye had us taking Charles Harris(#22) over Watt(went #30) for some reason I still can't figure out.
If a schlub like me (who was hoping for Watt at the time) can identify obviously good players, why is Chris Grier(a friggin NFL GM) struggling so much?!

I have to agree. I've never seen the reason why after being with the team evaluating players in one capacity or another since 2000, Grier gets a pass for the decades of ineptitude. Ross should have fired Grier along with Tannenbaum and Gase, hired a new GM, and let him handle the rebuild. For a guy that's made billions, Ross doesn't seem to have a whole lot of common sense when it comes to his football team.

Are they bad picks or does something happen when they come here?

I'm concerned too about player selection in the draft and agree 100% about Grier. We'll see what he does with all those picks we'll have in 2020, I pretty much think it's do or die for him. This rebuild could be his last shot.

I mean they draft a quarterback who played in a read option scheme both in Big Springs High School in Lubbock Texas and at Texas A & M and put him in a traditional pro set for the first time IN HIS LIFE, and he stands there "like a deer in the headlights" and they waste dozens of games before they realize...DUHHHHH....this guy wasn't made for us.

The same guy, Ryan Tannehill, is traded to another team that does have a scheme that suits his talents and in one of his first games, he has better stats than Tom Brady, the opposing QB.

Hey, I'm a fan of Jim Langer at Center, Larry Little at Guard, Norm Evans at tackle, etc. etc. etc.

I want a great D line as well.

Looking back on Shula inheriting the team. I think that after Griese came, Shula built a multiple Super Bowl winning team around him.

Marino needed no offensive help but as my ex wife used to tell me, "the other teams simply outscore you guys."

It takes a whole team but the QB is the car engine.

But let's wait and see more with respect to Rosen and how Fitz patches the holes.

5 games into a total rebuild and you're declaring a guy a bust. That's nice.

We're playing with roster full of backups. It's an evaluation year and they've said as much. There's maybe 5-6 starters out possibly some depth for next year. Aside from Howard, most of the cbs will be gone next year or primarily special teamers.

If you're expecting aaron donald results playing next to hot garbage, you're in for a long season.

The overreactions from this year are comical.

-THIS. Truth 100%. Going to be a long year if your expecting a 10 game winning streak to make the playoffs.

GO DOLPHINS!!!!

I agree that it's way too early to call Wilkins a bust... but it isn't too late to call Charles Harris a bust... and despite a couple of catches this year, Devante Parker was not worth a 1st round pick... Minkah may or may not become a star but obviously, he didn't work out for us. The fact we got Pittsburgh to give us a first round pick for him is great, but was hardly the plan when they picked him. Grier's track record isn't stellar. Since 2015 draft class, a total of two players that Miami has drafted have made a pro bowl (which is hardly the gold standard for exceptional play it used to be) Xavien Howard and Jay Ajayi. Neither were first round picks and one is no longer with the team. I hope that he hits the jackpot with all the picks in the next two years, but history would suggest otherwise.

Charles harris is a bust. That was a bad pick. I don't know what Grier will do. I can only hope adding Marvin Allan and Reggie McKenzie will be an upgrade to Mike Tannenbaum.

I think the first draft you can truly grade Grier is this past draft. He ran the show. I can't believe for a second that Tannenbaum and Gase weren't involved in the past drafts.

Harris is a bust, they should try him at ILB. Parker is not a bust I will always make that argument. Seen enough busts as a phin fan, Bosa, Kumerow, Shipp, Brophy, Land, Carlton busts don't produce ****. Parker has stats. You may not like them but he has produced.

As for Grier Im still open to see what he has got with full control. He has done ok w/ some ufa in the past so that tells me he has an eye for some talent. No one was saying stay away from Wilkins, Harris and Fitzpatrick in their drafts so we were not suckers for drafting them.

It's not my fault that I can spot a bust(a player not worthy of the draft pick used on him) sooner than later.
I hope it is an overreaction, but Grier's GM record has me a bit skiddish.

I'm not expecting Wilkins to be a one-man wrecking crew, but at least make a few plays. Heck, just make A play! Show a flash here and there, to at least justify the lofty draft position.
By the end of the season, we should have no doubt about Wilkins' ability, potential, and whether he was a bust or not.
I'm really hoping I'm wrong.
