I wonder how many sacks will be given up? 12 I believe is the NFL record for a single game. Remarkably, Davenport may be the weakest link in a line full of weak links. I don't think Tunsil would've made a difference to the overall result, but I think he might've helped keep the sack total down some. The only question I have is how long before Fitzpatrick gets put on IR?

At least none of us expect to see a winning season. There's been years that I thought we'd do better than we did, so with my expectations at zilch, a horrible season won't hurt as much.

Right, this organization has been in denial for the past 20 years with that we are just a few pieces away from winning attitude. How many orgs have we seen figure it out and win, SEA PHI, heck JAX was a play away from going to the SB in 2017. Good to see them just gut the whole team and start over from scratch. No one is sacred we have not won with anyone on this squad. Rebuild from the bottom up.

I agree 100%. No one is sacred. But I miss the days not long ago when I had favorite players , almost sacred like Zach Thomas, Jason Taylor. Along with a playoff calibur team and a championship I hope we add a name or two to the ROH along the way. thumbs up

GO DOLPHINS!!!!

If 1990s Jimmy Johnson was going to be drafting the players, with all the picks we have, I'd be thrilled. Chris Grier doing it eh... Since 2015 draft class, Miami has had only two drafted players that made a pro bowl. Xavian Howard and Jay Ajayi. Ajayi is gone and Xavian Howard was a great pick. No first round pick in that period of time has made a pro bowl and two of those picks are likely busts--Charles Harris and Devante Parker. Not very stellar. I hope he proves me wrong, but Grier hasn't shown me anything that gives me confidence that he knows what he's doing. If he misses on the picks, we will have given away Tunsil for nothing.

Only player recently that really got me excited when he touched the ball was Jarvis Landry. He was a play maker YAC. We may hate Tom Brady , but he defies the odds over and over. He finds a way to win. The New England fans have true Legends like Brady, Wilfork, and Gronkowski. We havnt seen that in decades. I hope that era isnt over in Professional football. I'm sick and tired of this new generation like Stills . Sooooooooo glad hes gone. I feel cautiously optimistic about our future. Maybe not this season, but the near future

JJ was not a good drafter. We got 1-2 players each year out of his drafts and he stumbled across Zak. Taylor, Surtain and Madison were keepers not much after those 4. John Avery, Brad Jackson, Gardner. JJ should have stuck to coaching.

I am ok w/ Grier's 2018 & 2019 drafts. No way in hell would I have drafted Harris over Watts besides that move Im ok with with him.

JJ didn't draft offensive players well. He did a pretty good job rebuilding a defense that stunk when he arrived. If you'll remember, what ended up pushing Shula out of coaching was a loss to Buffalo where Thurman Thomas rushed for some horrifically large number of yards-- 200+. JJ rebuilt that defense with some pretty nice picks in the latter rounds and was a master of trading down for more picks and making them count. I still think if JJ's mother hadn't passed away and the fire in his belly for winning hadn't gone out he'd have brought a championship to Miami eventually. But then again, who knows.

JJs defense gave me some of the best Dolphins memories that I can remember. If life hadnt hit him hard, I have no doubt he would have built a championship team. As is we were competitive until Wannastadt tanked us. .

But looking forward if we get a few HOFs like Jimmy Johnson picked out of the boatload of picks we have , I'll be very happy.

GO DOLPHINS!!!!

Wannastadt actually got more out the Phins than JJ. 2 11-5 seasons his first 2 years. His downfall was saddling his offense around Fiedler and Rick Spielman's drafts.

He was a defensive minded coach using the defense JJ created. Just like Barry Switzer won a Superbowl with JJs team.

Point is he got more out of those same players than JJ. Record shows that. JJ also was a defensive minded coach but he trusted his offense more. More so he was not going to dictate to Marino on what plays he called. He would have gotten more out of that team if he had a better qb and a better OC than Gailey. I thought if he had gone w/ Brian Griese at qb we would have gotten further in the playoffs.

Wannstedt's downfall was being heavily involved in personnel decisions. Jamar Fletcher, not drafting Brees, Eddie Moore, Jay Fiedler, etc. He diluted the roster that JJ gave him and that's why each year the team became progressively worse. He was a disaster to the franchise and my one criticism of JJ will always be that he brought that albatross to Miami.

Eddie Moore. The all time worst Miami draft pick IMO. Worst then Dion Jordon because Dion just didnt live up to his 1st round status. Eddie Moore was rated like a 5th rounder and he was useless. We have been going downhill since. That was the beginning of the darkest of times for Miami fans. Tunsil dropping to us is the end. Hopefully this trade signals a rebirth of one of the NFLs greatest teams.

GO DOLPHINS!!!!

Man, 1997 - 2007 first rounders...brutal stretch.

Best players:
- Vernon Carey (we traded draft capital cuz we were scared by NE...who then picked Wilfork a couple picks later...we lose even when we get a relatively decent 1st rounder)
- Ronnie Brown (again lose when we win...could have picked Rodgers)

4 years with no picks, then the likes of Green, Avery, Fletcher, Allen, Ginn.

Makes 2008 - present look like we're 1st-round geniuses.

Front office disasters!! Both JJ and Wannastadt should have paid more attention to the field than front office matters.

Tom Brady said Miami's defense was the best he ever played. He hated to play against JT, Zach Thomas, Sam Madison and Patrick Surtain.

Madison and Surtain were one of the most prolific cornerback tandems in NFL history, posting a combined 697 tackles, 7.5 sacks, 60 interceptions, and 2 touchdowns.

JT is in the HOF. Thomas will be eventually. I'd love to get just one more future Hall of Famer from the coming draft........

GO DOLPHINS!!!!

I remember Brady saying that...& I remember during a game how Sam & Pat totally threw Brady's timing & rhythm off by bumping & pressing very physically from the line while we were using five DB's in a blitz scheme throughout the game. Brady got sacked & hit so many times because he couldn't get rid of the ball
rendering his quick slants and timing routes nonexistent. He wasn't able to stand back to throw long either because of the pressure. He was totally rattled & having meltdowns the entire game. It was a brilliantly designed defensive game plan with the right personnel on the roster to do it with. Even the commentators were thoroughly impressed, it was such an awesome game.

Those were some good times!
