Do we keep our number 13 or move down

To anyone who really in his heart wants to agree with the statement

""Grieses, Spurriers, Staubachs, Aikmans, Romos, Bradshaws, Rothelisbergers, etcs. CAN ALL JUST AS EASILY BE FOUND IN THE 3rd or 4TH ROUNDS."

Griese and Spurrier were drafted one after the other 1 and 2 in the 1967 draft. Treasure is dead wrong.

Staubach was drafted late. That's one for him.

Aikman WAS THE VERY PICK OVERALL PICK IN THE 1989 draft. Treasure is dead wrong again.

Tony Romo was not drafted. That's another for Treasure.

TERRY BRADSHAW WAS DRAFTED, LIKE Griese, Spurrier and Aikman, above THE FIRST OVERALL PICK IN THE 1970 DRAFT. That's the third dead wrong for Treasure.

Ben Rothelisberger was DRAFTED 11 OVERALL IN THE FIRST ROUND OF THE DRAFT. That's the first round and not the 3rd or 4th and really should get another DEAD WRONG FOR TREASURE.

So it is April folks. The draft month!!!!

Do we draft at number 13 or move down into the second round? This does not apply to us moving down a couple of spots but should we give away our first round pick in order to pick up multiple picks in the 2nd or later rounds.

Can't make it a poll or it would bring out the blank out phenom.

So do we trade down?

Trading out of the 1st round to get 3rd and 4th rounders is mathematically impossible. The highest value in the third round is 265 points and in the 4th its 88 points(based on NFL trade value chart). Our #13 pick is worth 1150 points. No team in the NFL has enough picks to make the trade even.

My earlier proposed trade with the giants gave us 200 extra value points, which translated into the #95, 132, and 143 picks (or 196 points)

If you may many trades back then you get more picks in the 2nd through 4th rounds. Only way we could trade back into the third or fourth rounds with a first round pick is if someone was willing to give up a future first and possible more future picks.

So my answer is trade back a few spots but not out of first round. Pick up extra picks. We can use the bodies this year. Get a QB next year.

You need to excuse Chyrene. He doesn't get how things work. He just wants to watch the first day of the draft and get that big splash. He doesn't watch the remaining of the draft or have any knowledge of what makes a great team. ALSO.....when you trade a first rounder.....You still get another 1st rounder .....just back more. In addition to falling back you then get extra picks depending on how far back you go. We need to fill holes. The trick is to do your homework and get value picks in those later rounds. That builds great teams.

GO DOLPHINS!!!!

from charley casserly's article on NFl.com

This "expert" has us trading back with NY Giants, they get Dwayne Haskins QB (they do this to jump above Washington at #15) we get Christian Wilkins, DT, CLemson, and probably three other picks in later rounds.

I think he is reading my posts. lol

Just ran the numbers and made 3 trade backs in the first round down to #29 and picked up 8 possibly 9 draft picks this year. (3 in 3rd, 1 in 4th, 3 in 5th and 1 or 2 in 7th).

Got Garrett Bradbury, C , NC State with the 29th pick

Astro, you and the rest of the board NEED TO EXCUSE, TREASURE. Either he can't read or understand or he has no morals when it comes to outright lying. The first post starting this thread says......

This does not apply to us moving down a couple of spots but should we give away our first round pick in order to pick up multiple picks in the 2nd or later rounds.

The word "give up" means you have no first round choice...even a 32.

Trade down neans trade to a lower draft choice. It doesn't HAVE to mean trade into a lower round which your post immediately above implies it necessarily does when it attacks my post to which it responds. You seem to be saying it does mean the only tradeback that can happen is if you trade out of the round altogether. That's not true. I didn't think you thought that until I read your very last post. That response to me says that you believe that ALL tradebacks MUST be into lower rounds. A lot of times that's true but even more times, places are switched and the higher team gets the other team's lower round choices. If you don't know that that happens, YOU are the one who doesn't KNOW how the draft works.

Well, if Quarterback X were to be available to us at 13 and team 14 was going to draft a running back and team 15 were going to draft a receiver and team 16 was going to draft a linebacker, ......duhhhh....yahhhh! I would exchange picks with the number 16 team for ours and some later picks but............................................................................................................................................................................................................ I have to have long pauses hoping blindly that it will give you time to think............................that WOULD BE BECAUSE I WOULD THEN KNOW THAT I COULD GET THE SAME DAMN PLAYER I WANTED AT 13 AT 17, SO WHY NOT DO IT????

However if there is a chance that one of those teams might snatch a QB themselves, then HELL NO!

But be honest!!! You just don't want a QB, Treasure.

You are so fixated on Tannehill that you want to defend his QB position even after he's gone.

You're not a Dolphin fan. You're a Tannehill fan.

Fan is short for fanatic. You're a Tannehill fanatic.

But WHY do you attack any attempt to get a quarterback that is the best we can get?

Why, why, why, why, why, a million times WHY?

Hey, you other posters on the board.

I'll tell you why!

He wants our future QBs (or at least our next few and certainly the very next QB we have) to suck hind tit!

Know why? So he can look back fondly on Tannehill and say, "But all you folks rode his back and talked about how bad he was...."

A) why do you continue to discuss this and address (the board)? Not me? Still trying to get that gang up mentality going huh? Proves your not confident in what you are saying.

cool smileywhy do you insist we need to pick a 1st round QB to get the best we can get? Or even need to pick a QB this year to get the best?

Why do you insist on just taking what some pundits say is the best for our team?

Becuase your ignorant and dont k ow who is the best. So your taking some idiot in some magazines word for it.

C) You do realize only you keep mentioning Tannehill? Hes gone. And I wish him the best. Why do you hate the guy so? What did he ever do to you personally?

GO DOLPHINS!!!!

Chryen, I think you know exactly what Treasure wants, but you continue to goad him on Tannehill.

LOL! JUST IN!!!!

Another reason for Treasure to hate Los Angeles.

Just got around to reading my Sunday Los Angeles Times Sports Section.

Sam Farmer (who has been there sports guy for like at least 40 years) did a mock first round draft.

Treasure does not believe in drafting Quarterbacks high!

LOL. The Times OVERALL first pick is ....wait for it.....Arizona picking Kyler Murray QB, Oklahoma.

Further still.....the Times doesn't have another QB going until....wait for it...........

NUMBER 13 Dwayne Haskins, QB Ohio State going to THE ALMIGHTY MIAMI DOLPHINS!!!! LOL LOL LOL

The next QB they have going is Drew Lock Missouri at number 17 to the Giants.

LOL.

If that happened, Treasure would go insane. LOL.

I am pretty sure that Treasure has already stated that if Haskins was there for us to pick at 13 he would jump on it.

As least your paying attention!! Like white on rice was my exact comment.Ill add.......like a Coke on Ice. I believe Haskins is numero uno on my board.

I cant see another Team not grabbing him........Chucky is getting Murray. But if either landed down to 13.....I'd have a hard time passing.

My gut tells me Lock is a bust. If Haskins and Murry are gone....I'd hope they trade the #13 to a team that wants him.

GO DOLPHINS!!!!

The new mock by Justin Heir has us moving down with NY giants and Houston and selecting an offensive lineman. I think I already had suggested this scenario, and I don't paid to do this!!! LOL

We did pass on Haskins, whom I am not sold on (Sorry treasure). But I really am not sold on any of the QBs this year. That's really the only reason I want to draft a QB next year. We need a QB, but not just a dude that plays the position. One who can play. I would draft Tyree Jackson in the third and Easton Stick in the seventh to fill out our roster.

With the picks we got for moving back we could get so really good players to help fill out the roster.

I'm not 100% sold on Haskins....but hes certainly worth the pick IMO. I wouldnt be bummed or Psyched . Much rather trade down and take Jackson in round 3.

I cant say for sure. Hes definitely a big reach in 1&2 though. Dont believe everything Our Lads tells you. I've seen draft digests putting him in the 4th and 5th. I think hes better then that though. Russell Wilson went at three.......

GO DOLPHINS!!!!
