What are the current wishes/dreams of this board for the new coach? Other than not really wanting Flores, because I'm not sure he really ran the NE D or Belichick I have not a clue who to cheer for. Right now I don't think any of the coaches have HC experience

Of the coaches that have been interviewed, I guess if I had to pick from the lesser of several evils, I'd say Kris Richard. Flores is very green and Pats assistants don't have a great track record as HCs. I really like Rizzi, but I don't think he would be able to assemble a decent staff having been in Miami for so many years. By default, I'd have to say Richard because he might have the highest ceiling of the available guys. Regardless, I think Miami will be looking for a new coach in 3 years anyway (plus a new GM).

From the things I've read, I like Flores.
Grew up in the roughest part of Brooklyn.
played LB at Boston College, and was a highly touted NFL talent, until he broke his leg.
Been in the Pats org since '04. From go-fer, to scout, to LBs coach, to DC.
He makes the D calls during the game, and looked really good doing it vs the Chargers. He's absolutely learned from the best.

I like the identity of the Dolphins being built around Defense.
I'm so sick of our D looking unprepared, and getting lit up week after week(thanks Burke).

Who else would be better fit to scheme against the one team that has dominated our division for the last....ever?!

The phins need a true leader of men as an HC.
Not some pointy shouldered, flem throated dweeb, who sits on the bench during the game trying to figure out $#!T on the fly. No thank you!

Apparently he's originally from Honduras as well. While I'm only in favor of the most qualified person getting the job, if he's neck and neck as a finalist along with a boring retread-candidate, I'd say go with Flores.

Having a guy at the helm who can relate to the hispanic community would go a long way with the local outreach aspect of the job---which doesn't directly win games but goes a long way with local charity work--and just may end up putting more people in the seats who actually root for the Dolphins.

And if he can bring in Jim Caldwell we would have experience to go with him.

The only coach we have that I would absolutely NOT let walk away is Rizzi...

But yet it appears when you quote it in a reply.

Between the two,
Richards D just gave up over 250 rushing, and got smoked by the Rams.
Flores' D just squashed P-Riv and the Chargers, and looked well prepared doing it.

Also, Flores brings 6 SB trips, 3 rings, and over a decade being part of a championship organization, as experience.
What comparable experience does Richard bring to the table? A brief stint with the Seahawks(DC'15-'17), and the DBs coach(demotion?) for the Cowboys?? To that I say,,,Eh.

I can really see why Grier and Ross are leaning toward Flores.
And after seeing that Jets presser, I already like him 1000x more than Gase. Yikes that was cringe-worthy!!
