Devante Parker apparently got a splinter in his left butt cheek while sitting on the bench last Sunday. He's apparently out for a month.

Actually, I was kidding about Parker but I heard Jones' issue was his shoulder but not the one he had surgery on. Day to day. They think he should be available this Sunday.

Tannehill also listed on injury report. I think its his ankle. Way too much scrambling and sacks....he better throw it away and find another way to make it happen or else he is going to keep getting hurt.

In my relatively limited experience managing fragile personalities (as I perceive Parker's is), I've had limited success (read: not NEARLY the success as when I managed thick-skinned, more highly-motivated folks). So, this may not be the best tactic...but:

I'd continue to make Parker earn any playing time he gets. I'd give him opportunities this week in the OAK game, and then evaluate what opportunities he might get against NE...anything from more due to him having earned it to being an active scratch if he hasn't. We all know he has 1000 yrds/8 TD in him physically. It all depends upon whether he gets his head screwed on straight. I don't know what the metric is, but I think it would be fair for Gase to tell him something like "we're gonna track how open you were on every route run...as well as what you do when the ball's thrown your way. If you can reach this level of "open-ness" per route and achieve these results when the ball's thrown your way well enough, then you'll earn more playing time."

Not a good sign, btw, that Parker claimed to have no idea why he was inactive only to have Gase tell the media "yeah, I explained it to him".

Dolphins have schemed successful offenses for 2 weeks w/ Lewis, Grant and other wr's. It has worked they are not pushed to get Parker back on the field. The current scheme should work against OAK this weekend. 3 weeks of film out there w/ no Parker. When he is finally back on the field the DC will have to wonder what the hell is the play the O is running. Parker will make the O better when he returns.

Parker knows what is going on and accepts it, the guy is not bitching in the media. Just said I have no clue, translation to the MIA press which he does not owe anything 'go screw yourselves'.

Devante Parker has not been a "reliable" player because of all the injuries he's suffered that have side-lined him and this may be why he hasn't shown us much as a player.

If the guy is really a competitor, and I wonder about that, he should be "chomping at the bit" to get back on the field...however, he's not let anyone know (including the media) if that's his attitude about playing or not. So far he's a bust.

Fans aren't rallying to him saying "wait to Devante gets on the field, because he'll be a mismatch for the defenders." Nobody know what he can do.

I love any dolphin player that wins games for us....I support tannehill 100 percent. I wish him the best but i dont like him scrambling that much.

He already has ill effects be it in his knee or ankle it doesnt matter.

If he keeps scrambling much he will not last too long.

Too bad thats his bread and butter. He is not a very good inside the pocket QB.

There should be a poll to guess how many games it will be before Parker is sidelined with another injury.

Parker is such a waste of roster space. On those rarest of occasions when he's "healthy" he's never proven to be a consistent play-maker. The only reliable thing about him is the fact that when he heals from whatever his most recent injury is, he's a week or two away from another injury that keeps him out of the lineup. The old saying that the best predictor of future behavior is past behavior should be known as the Devante rule.

Devante Parker's closest friend is Murphy, of Murphy's Law. If he can be side-lined, he will be! spinning smiley sticking its tongue out The Devante Rule is a corollary to Murphy's Law.

devante is active for todays game. We need to score more points than last week to win against the raiders.

well I am proud of the way the phins are playing right now, actually somewhat entertaining for a change. But in my normal way, yes I do have a beef. How the bloody hell does this puss pack parker have a damn quad injury when he has practiced what? 4 days in a year lol, this guy is hysterical. I am predicting he breaks his ankle next week when he trips on his tampon string. Good god what an absolute waste of a roster spot.

Where did you hear this? I haven't seen any ill effects, he's been picking the right times to run when nobody is around, and he's getting down before anybody gets a solid shot at him.

I beg to disagree, his accuracy from the pocket has been laudable, especially on his deep balls, which have been right on the money so far.
