I've got to agree that the play-calling was pretty lame. We've got TWO good backs and they're underused. Third and one late in the game and Gase calls a pass, a poorly executed play that failed miserably. It was dangerous to use a pass play at that time and at that point on the field and at that point in the game, while the defense was spread out and a running play had a good chance of extending the drive and using up more clock. He has made poor use of the running game so far this season, excepting in the suspended first half of the Titans game. His passing game seems to consist mostly of bubble screens and such- he infrequently throws the ball downfield, even so far as 10 yards, and relies on talent and speed to get the first down. It's a pretty iffy proposition, as evidenced by our relatively poor third down conversion record.

I think RT17 is doing pretty damn good so far....

72.5 completion percent - That's 5th place for active starting QB's

There's only one Superbowl winning QB ahead of him in this stat - Brees

104.9 QB rating - That's 8th place for active starting QB's

There's only two Superbowl winning QB's ahead of him in this stat - Brees & Rodgers.

I know it's early on in the season and things can change quick, but that's not a bad start for our QB at all, and definitely not worth bitching about.

Yes, I would like to see some deeper passes - So far only three for 20+ and one for 40+ but play calling plays a role in that. That was a very nice deep throw RT made to Stills in stride for that 75 yd TD in week one smileys with beer

I'm not trying to "get" you, I've done that before and it wasn't very hard. No, my point was-let me explain it more clearly- apparently you didn't watch the game very closely in those days because the two men you mentioned weren't " running" QB's by ANY stretch of the imagination. The only real running QB of that era was Fran Tarkenton, most other QB's then were almost EXCLUSIVELY pocket passers. In the NFL, Sonny Jurgensen. Norman Snead. Bart Starr. Roman Gabriel. In the early AFL before Namath, John Hadl. Jack Kemp. Tobin Rote. Earl Morral, and, of course, with those knees, Joe Namath himself. I could go on, but my point is made.

I'm not so sure about the "deer in the headlights" bit, but the rest of this post is right on. If Tannehill is ever going to do it, NOW is the time.

Now if we can only beat the raiders and be 3-0?

Also my other wish is that tcpf's Boy Toy stays healthy.

This is the perfect weekend for me: 5 things need to happen. 1 Already happened.

1. Jests lost to the browns.

2. That the pats lose again

3. Bills Lose as well

4. Phins beat the raiders.

5. Tannehill stays healthy one more week.

He is going to be a good one. Lots of talent. He is only a rookie.

Plus, from the highlights he did damn well!!!! Oh, I forgot with any QB except Tanny he is responsible for THAT teams losses but its wins are due to the other players on that team but with your mancrush, he is solely to be credited with all wins but has nothing to do with any loss.

I know what you are saying. I'm saying you are wrong. The statistics and players I have quoted PROVE it.

Well, that's good, because they weren't. To use those referenced players to prove your contrary opinion is asinine.

Actually, that is an edited misstatement of your original point. Not that it really matters, you're still wrong for the same reasons I stated. Perhaps you would like to edit it again?

Stop making foolish statements before looking them up and verifying them. Tarkenton was drafted in 1961 and played for 18 years- Brown was drafted in 1957, four years before Tark was drafted, and played until 1965, five years into Tark's career. He was a prominent QB in all those years.

That WAS my original point. Yes, that is what I said and am still saying. I believe I have proven my point, and disproven yours. If you still disagree, then I think your are inflexible in your opinions but that is your choice.

I doubt that you can cite stats to prove this. So, prove it if you can.

Of course not. But then, this statement doesn't have anything to do with with the conversation that we are having. Misdirection, anyone? The last tactic of a desperate mind.

P.S. I am sick and tired of you changing or mis-restating your "point" to avoid having to admit you might be wrong. Try to be man enough to admit that you might be wrong. Me, I know that I might be wrong at any time. But, not this time.
