Parker's numbers for the last 3 years are just as good as Stills or Amendola's.

Played more games and has more receiving yards than Amendola. He has more catches than Stills. Team has not been waiting for this guy to be productive he has been producing.

Mizzou, not wanting to pick at you or anything, but you'll grant me that your opinion that Devante Parker has been productive is a minority one. The Herald and Sun Sentinel are replete with articles about how he's down to his last chance, etc. Be that as it may, comparing him to Amendola and Stills doesn't make your case. Amendola is an undrafted journeyman wide receiver who's never had a 1000 yard season nor a 100 catch season even while playing with Brady. The fact that he's been injured as much as Parker hasn't helped his cause either. I like Kenny Stills. He's probably our best receiver now with Landry gone but come on, he's hardly an elite talent. He didn't top 1000 yards even with Drew Brees throwing him the ball. His two years with Brees, Brees threw for 5K yards both years and neither year did Stills have 1000 yds or 100 catch year. Again, I'm not dissing Stills, I'm just stating facts. He's a good receiver but he's not elite.

Parker was drafted in the first round and whether he likes it or not, he'll be judged based upon the draft capital used to select him. In three years with the team, he's averaged 46 catches a year, 636 yards, and 2.6 TDs. If you knew then, what you know now, would you have spent a 1st round pick on him? I wouldn't have. It's time that the team look for a #1 receiver that can do the things that Parker was drafted to do but hasn't come close to doing.

He had better blow up because so he has been a serious disappointment. He's supposed to be a physical freak, winning one on one's and jump balls. He's supposed to be the guy that uses his size to his advantage and his speed to beat smaller defenders. He is supposed to be a dominant every down receiver and he doesn't come close to that. I like him but he must find his stride...with Parker we drafted Megatron but we got Ted Ginn.

Parker has not exhibited any special catching ability that I've noticed since joining the Dolphins. Injuries if real and as serious as alleged continue from one season to another. He may have been a star at the college level but must be considered a bust at the NFL level. Since I have no say with the Dolphins (LOL) it appears the brain trust comprising the front office and coaches still have a hope that Parker will actually play in a few games and provide some help in scoring points. I am doubtful...can you tell? smiling bouncing smiley

Parker is a good receiver but he is not elite, I agree 100%. Being chosen in the first round does not mean you are elite. Out of the 5 receivers chosen in the first round of Parker’s draft class only 1 has stats that are dramatically better than hiss, the kid in OAK. 3 of those receivers really have not done a damn thing.

Tanne is a good qb but he is not elite.
James is a good OT but not elite.

Our whole freaking roster is composed of good but not elite players. Parker has produced more or less at the same rate of every one of our #1 picks since 2012.

Comparing him to Stills and Amendola does make my case. They are NFL players. What you are saying is I should not compare Brady to Tanne because Brady was a 7th rnd pick. That is frankly, BS.

I would not have drafted Parker in 2015 knowing what I knew in 2015. There was an OT from FL (Humphries?) that I liked in that draft. Parker was a guy you had to be ready to take what you saw on film. He was talented but there was not that extra fire in his gut that makes you an all pro. Some folks got that, some did not (of course we did not). A lot of scouts overrated him coming out of LOU. 2015 was actually not a deep draft class imo so we actually did ok by drafting Parker. Not just the 2015 draft where I disagreed w/ our f/o.

2014 - Ha Ha Dix instead of James
2013 - Kyle Long instead of Jordan
2012 – Kuechly instead of Tanne, I liked Cousins and Foles

These guys do not put themselves in a Phins uni our front office does. There lies our problem, Tannenbaum.

Parker is really not in my top 10 of people that I think are what’s wrong w/ the Phins. Im really not a Parker fan and would have traded him for a low 3rd or 4th round pick in the 2018 draft. Not because of his production but I would have unloaded as many players that I could for draft picks in this year’s draft. Which I think was a deep talented class. However I do not buy the bs that the guy is derelict in his duty and has been unproductive for the Phins. I really would not mind seeing this guy suit up against us in a Pats uni in 2019 and make some of the same sports writers eat *&^%.

You misquoted me Mizzou. I said that Stills is a good receiver, not elite. Parker stinks. Sorry but we'll just have to agree to disagree on that point. I see nothing in Parker that makes me want him on the Fins. I see little effort to make the tough catch. He doesn't put effort in when there's an errant throw to keep it from being intercepted. I think his history in both college and the pros is that he's fragile. I don't like fragile WRs.

Now where you and I agree 100% on is that the main problem is Tannenbaum. His free agency decisions and contract extensions are absolutely indefensible and have hamstrung this franchise beyond belief. He needs to go asap. Until he's gone, the Fins will be bottom dwellers.

Sorry about that, don't want to misquote anyone.

Yeah we will continue to disagree on Parker. IMO he earns his keep not saying I would bring him back in 2019 but he has put up numbers compatible to average wrs in the nfl. Im sure a coach like Bellichek and a qb like Brady would get more out of him.

Cool we can agree on Tannenbaum!
