Yeah. It's not often a fan remembers a single penalty from the regular season but I remember that one and totally saw it the same way you did. The guy went down right as Kiko had launched himself to make the tackle and the refs call spearing.

Alonso would have to improve to only suck and you're right, Tannenbaum made cutting him impossible with the extension he gave him. He counts 10 million toward the cap this year. If they cut him it's 13 million in dead cap money. Next year, he counts over 8 million and we take a 3.5 million dead money cap hit if he's cut. So, hopefully, the new GM will cut his ass as soon as he's hired, but he'll still count 3.5 million cap wise. Tannenbaum should be fired for this alone not to mention every other boneheaded move he's made.
Andre Branch is another Tannenbaum boneheaded blue light special. 10 million for a guy who has averaged 4 sacks a year over his 7 years in the league. Next year he'll make 8 million and the cap hit is 2 million if he's cut. For a team that was cap strapped and had to get rid of multiple productive players, 20 million of this coming years cap eaten up by two mediocre players. Ross should've hired me to be GM. I wouldn't have extended either of these two contracts and he could pay me a lot less than he's paying Tannenbaum.

Yep, I saw that you did after I posted. Bleacher report is what came up when I googled it. The contract information is correct though. We can agree to disagree I guess but in my opinion, Alonso isn't any where close to being worth what he's being paid. Bobby Wagner with Seattle is arguably one of the best linebackers in the game and his 2018 cap hit is 13.5 mill. If Wagner is worth 13.5 mill, Alonso should be playing for league minimum.
