Gase apparently said today that if Tannehill went down, he'll go with either Fales or Osweiler. I can only assume that if that happens he plans to tank the season. I will say it without reservation -this roster won't win one game with either Fales or Osweiler under center. Period. If Gase thinks they can, then he's so delusional he should resign immediately. He'd better hope Tannehill stays healthy because if he's not, Gase will look like a fool as the losses mount.

While I agree alot of faith is being put into Ryans leg.......he needs to start 16 games for us to have a shot at a Post season. Absolutely.......all that said, Do you really think Moore was a better Back up then either Osweiler or Fales?

GO DOLPHINS!!!!

Of the backups that DIDN'T eventually take over the starting spot, say like Marino and Brady, one would have to say that Matt Moore was the best backup in NFL history.

Lol......based on what!? Lol.....did he have some kind of special bench warming technique? Did he have a special ability to fart and keep it nice and toasty?lol......

I said last year during the summer that Fales looked better then Moore. He needed to be #2.

GO DOLPHINS!!!!

In a word, yes. That's not because I think Moore is an exceptional QB, it's because I think that Fales and Osweiler are positively mediocre. Matt Moore career QB rating 81.2. Osweiler 76.5. Fales 79. I'd say that all three are pretty putrid, but again, yes Osweiler and Fales are worse.

Fales has potential. He has a decent Arm , moves well in the pocket and I really believe GASE can make him a great Back up at least.Moore just had a noodle arm. He threw absolute floaters last season.

I guess we'll have to agree to disagree on Fales. I saw nothing in that Buffalo game that was special or even noteworthy. Average arm, a bit small for the position, and his accuracy is very suspect. If he has to start for an extended period of time, I think he'll be exposed. I stand by my statement, If either Fales or Osweiler start games, defenses will stack the box and dare us to throw. We won't be able to and the result will be losses. Gase's stubborness will ultimately be his undoing. He's no where near the coaching genius he thinks he is.

Let Treasure tell it and we've got the best QB combo in the NFL. An injured Tannehill starting and Fales backing him up.yawning smiley

Earl Morrall is rolling over in his grave over that one!

Moore was very good. Morrall let the team to a the majority of victories during our perfect 1972 season. He also did a pretty good job backing up Unitas before that.

I was just a young'un, but my understanding is that Morrall was Unitas' backup immediately prior to Shula brining him to Miami. He did see a good amount of action while in Baltimore, as Unitas got injured a few times. In fact, I believe Morrall was at the helm during the Colts' historic loss to Namath and the Jets.

He also led the Colts to their SB V victory (I had to look that one up), once again replacing an injured Unitas.

Anyway, a different era. I will forever remember what Earl did for us, as I was in the stands, shocked when Griese got hurt during that game vs the Chargers in 1972. My dad said, "don't worry, Earl Morrall can lead this team." Dad was right.

Eow.....over react much? I never said Fales is Canton bound. But as a back up he's young, got some experience and I believe his ceiling hasn't been reached yet. That's all.

Moore has been around. His ceiling was met a while ago.He was awful last year. GASE knows he can't do anything with him. He's on the downside.

Let's see if he improved this summer. Why are you making so much of this? Becuase you didn't get your big feel good QB draftpick? Pretty sad you cant judge them without your negative biases.

Lol. Tannehill had only 7 college starts under his belt and he beat out Matt Moore in his prime by a head coach who admitted publically he never liked him.

Your amatuer Pyscho analysis of me and your sad rationalizations are just smoke to cover your most glaring weakness. YOU CAN'T ADMIT TO BEING WRONG.

Matt Moore was a decent back up. Never starter material. But last year proved he couldn't even do that.

Fales is young. He has alot of upside that's all in saying. Looking into anymore then that is your hangup.

Of course we did. The man IS our starting QB, and we all want our team to succeed. Yours is an interesting sort of paranoia.

"TCPF everytime tannehill plays like trash i will say he is a scrub.
Its part of been a fan.
And god knows he has had some terrible games."

And, pumping him up when he plays well is
also "part of been a fan". You generally forget about that part.

45 welcome to the conversation. You act as if I've been talking directly to you. You say whatever you wish , what your not understanding is these two , Chyrene and Sam Sam not only call Ryan a scrub, they shit on him and made excuses when he did well. Why becuase it's become something else entirly....its about thier egos and wanting to be right. Not what's best for the Dolphins. Enjoy your 1st ammendant rights.. but you really have walked in on the end of a 5 yr conversation.

Rick, you need to go back through the years and the threads. When we got Tanny from Texas A & M, where he had been a gunslinger in college and a run and gun slinger in High School in Lubbock, Texas (BTW only about 250 miles away from where I grew up), I saw it as a move getting us a double of Cam Newton. That's the way Tanny played in high school, QB/Receiver/gunslinger/runner.

But Joe Philbin was the coach. He had the idea that if this guy was among the top 6 QBs in that draft, then he must be a Bob Griese type stay in the pocket QB.....and if not, then he must be a Dan Marino exceptionally fast release STAY IN THE POCKET QB.

When we finally got Gase and some common sense, he moved Tannehill out of the pocket and we began to see some of the old Texas A & M quarterback.

Unfortunately, AS CAN HAPPEN TO ANY FOOTBALL PLAYER, he sustained an injury being the run and gun guy he was most effective at.

This has no relation to the draft which I argued we should draft his either eventual or immediate replacement but that's over.

But better a run and gun natural QB who gets injured than a "deer in the headlight" guy WHO IS NOT COMFORTABLE IN THE POCKET and just stands there as events move fastly around him and he gets sacked after which the best we can hope for is that he does NOT fumble the ball while being sacked.

You can't use a cow as a hunting dog and you can't milk a hunting dog.
