We are good at Oline, Dline
QB and WR
Ballage Gesecki Smythe Gore , Amendola and Wilson , upgrade our offense
Fitz, Baker, and the return of Lippett and McMillan and McCain, Howard and tankersley upgrade our secondary
Sanders leg strength will be an asset

Agree, other areas were more important than the positions you mentioned, I guess.

Can't fill every hole in one draft...sure wish we'd have grabbed Falk, obviously the team was not as impressed as I was with him.

I'm still skeptical about that Oline. Its improved with free agents, but we have no depth. we are just an injury or two away from disaster.

GO DOLPHINS!!!!

Agree at least 1 O lineman in the draft would have been nice

I'm upset they didn't pick up Kendrick Norton, a hurricane who went in the 7th round or McIntosh who went in the early 5th or even Berrios who went in the 6th. All will be NFL Starters IMHO.

Would loved to have been a fly on the wall when QB discussions were had. I get the idea that they might have only felt 2 QBs represented value @ #11. However, I still believe that Tannehill should have legitimate young competition this year (and really every year). Nothing against Tannehill or my belief that he'll be very good this year, but more about sound general management of an NFL team...not putting ourselves in a bad position if Tannehill does go down at any point.

I feel really good about the offense, in general (assuming Tannehill stays healthy). Probably the best OL on paper we've had in a long time. Excited to have a healthy athletic TE. And, although I'll miss Landry, I do think it's provocative that during his time with us, the team (7-1) and Tannehill (100+ rating) seemed to perform the best when Landry's numbers were down relative to his norm.

On defense, I honestly find myself not being able to clearly see the holistic plan, but feeling like we have a lot of talent to work with. One thing that's clear is that they either feel really good about what we have at DT, or they'll be looking to address it somehow still. But, as for DE, LB & secondary, it's like we have more starting-caliber players than we can put on the field at once. Or, maybe the point is that they'll have a ton of flexibility to put talent on the field in many different combinations, thereby creating defensive mismatches. If that's the case - and we're smart enough to do it well - it feels very much like a wise, Patriot-like thing to do.

Burke has never struck me as a particularly innovative coordinator but regardless of that fact, unless they add a DT or two that can be functional run stoppers, teams are going to run wild against them. Phillips has had every opportunity to show that he can be a solid DT and has failed. Godchaux and Taylor are average at best. The notion that Suh had to be let go because of his cap number is valid but the idea that you can go into the season having done absolutely nothing to account for his absence is unforgivable. Don't forget that these players couldn't excel despite the fact Suh was typically double and triple teamed. What makes anyone think that these same players will somehow fare better when teams no longer need to concentrate on Suh? I think a failure to address this may ultimately end up being Tannenbaum, Grier, and/or Gase's ticket out of Miami (which incidentally wouldn't be a bad thing).

Oline - hoping the FA acquisitions and Asiata, Tunsil James development improve our play

WR - same on FA acquisition and Parker, Caroo, Grant development
TE- Hoping Gesecki and Smythe fill out holes here and give us a red zone weapon

RB Drake, Gore and Ballage!

DLine -Hoping Quinn pays off and Godchaux , Phillip's, Harris, Branch can stop the run

Secondary- + McMillan, Lippett, Fitzpatrick, Baker , McDonald a full season , Howard, McCain, Tankersly development, could be nice if wake and Quinn can get pressure upfront

Qb - an injury away from 1-4 wins

K a guy that can make 60+ yarders 80%+ no return kickoffs

It seems as tho the Dolphins have an aversion to drafting anyone from the U. Granted, they have drafted some Hurricanes, but with a few good Hurricanes still available, the Dolphins went for....who?

McDermot(sp) was undrafted. Fins could have grabbed him, instead of...who? With the way Richt and his coaches coach their guys, one would think the Fins should, at least, take a chance. The guys in the 6th and 7th rounds rarely stick.

Oh well, The Fins got a few good players (probably two immediate starters). Hopefully some of the rest of them will pan out.

Yes captkoi, I wonder why that is. Meanwhile, the good GMS around the league capitalized on the sloppy late round drafting of the weaker and clueless franchises.

Panthers, Giants, Pats-- usually field good teams year after year, I predict we will see why by looking at this draft in a few seasons.

I agree. The Pats had 2 1st rounders....they wanted none of this QB class.....

TC, I am glad you brought up the Pats...... I need to vent......

Is the NFL stupid!!!!!! Why do teams continually trade with the Patriots who continue to win every trade. They obtained a 2nd, 3rd, and 7th round draft pick in next years draft by trading back. I have more to say but none of it is clean enough to write in this forum.

I agree.....and it further proves my point , extra draft picks build dynasties......its how Jimmy Johnson built the 90s Cowboys as well.

GO DOLPHINS!!!!

Apparently with a better attitude as well. I remember when Ayjai was benched on the game in Seattle. After that he player with a fever......like 3-4 100 yd games.

Apparently he wasn't blocking and needed motivation when he was traded to The Eagles. I get that 4th round pick . GASE just wanted him gone at that point. We were lucky to maybe turn that into a win/win. The Laundry trade pissed me off though.

GO DOLPHINS!!!!

But at least the Ajayi trade (might have) helped the Eagles beat the Pats in the super bowl.

They wanted no qb in this class because they still have pound for pound the best qb in the league who looks like he is 26 instead of close to 40 years old.

I hate this but i think with good blocking brady can play at least 4 more years at a high level. Maybe more.

Plus this is the smartest coach in football belichick...moody smiley

He is getting more and more picks so when brady is ready to retire he can trade up and draft a future star qb maybe in 4 or 5 years.

I can see it now.

Too bad we cannot come up with a plan like the pats....

All we do is draft cbs and dends and OLinemen in the first round when our qb sucks and is injured...

We will never get anywhere with this plan.

The only reason it occurred to me right away was that I live in the New England area. When the trade happened the Eagles had a great W-L record at that point of the season and were headed to the playoffs so it was in my mind as a possibility.

When philly won my friends said "Thanks for Ajayi" and I said "Sure, it was worth it--we weren't going anywhere this season anyway."

OH sorry I didn't tell that correctly. I have two friends at work who are from Philadelphia. Those are the ones who said 'thanks.'

Everyone else at the office fully expected the Pats to win and are probably still in denial that they lost grinning smiley

Thing that made me angry was that for the first time in a long time we had a running game so it didn't matter so much that we DIDN'T have a GREAT QB. Then Ajayi pisses off someone in coaching or the front office and bam, he is gone. Just like we could afford it. Just like we were the 72 Dolphins. No we get to pick 11th in the draft meaning there were only ten teams that were worst.
