Which means both linebackers worth taking at 11 won't be available for Miami which leads me to believe that Vita Vea is a likely pick at 11. Quenton Nelson could also be in play. Thoughts?
Fins72 if the draft plays out the way yours does..... then sprint up and take Nelson! Will play every down at a very high for many years unless he gets hurt.

I agree. We still lack one starting caliber guard (I'm not high on Larson or Davis). Plus, Vea worries me. Lot's of potential but disappeared for stretches in a lot of games. Reminds me a little of Jordan Phillips.
I'm always a proponent of solidifying the trenches. A little out of my element here because I don't follow college ball enough to give an opinion of specific players. This year, I would like to see an early focus on interior defensive line, and hope McMillan pans out at ILB. our defense was 26th in sacks and 28th in interceptions last year .... those 2 stats tell me we ask our secondary to cover for far too long on passing downs. There is a lot of work to do on both sides of the ball, but protecting the secondary and the ILB with a reasonable pass rush will go a long way in solidifying the defense as a whole.
And we are not smart because we want tannehills replacement this year when there is a great crop of qbs as opposed to other years...
Tannehill is coming of an injury dude...
But you are blindly in love with his play and cant see anybody else playing qb for the phins...
You are so blind you cant even see there will be other drafts where we can improve the OLINE and defense in the first round.....((((Which hasnt worked for the last 20 years or so drafting OLinemen and defensive players in the first round))))))
YOu are a fan of tannehill NOT a fan of the dolphins.
And we did get a center and a guard which are very capable Olinemen in free agency this year....one from san fran the other i forgot where he came from
We have the same right and left tackle that will be better IMO....
No excuses if tannehill stays healthy and the Oline stays healthy....
I hated the landry departure but we still have some good receivers...
We do need a tend star though that can block and catch.
If RT and the line both stay healthy all season...RT will put up another 4K+ season, bank on it. As far as the team making the playoffs, well the defense, running game, special teams and the coaches all have to do their parts for us to get there.

I have my doubts about that given the state of the current receiving corps but even if he does, all I care about are wins and losses. The reality is that this team in it's current state isn't likely to win more than 5 or 6 games. The receivers are average. We actually don't even have a number 1 receiver on the roster just a couple of slot receivers and a speed guy with questionable hands. The running backs are untested or old. The offensive line has lots of question marks. Can Tunsel play up to his draft status? He sure as hell didn't last year. Will Kilgore be a decent replacement for Pouncey? There was a reason SF replaced him. Will we find a guard that is starting caliber (and no, that's not Larson or Davis). The defense is even more of a question mark. We have no one that even comes close to replacing Suh. We have one linebacker who MAY be good but who is coming back from a knee injury and who is still essentially an untested rookie. We have two safeties who don't compliment each other. Don't even get me started on the defensive coordinator who wasn't even a good linebacker coach. Worst of all, given the idiots running this franchise, if I'm right and they win 3 or 4 games, we're not even assured that the morons who assembled this cast of characters will be fired because the owner values friendship over competence.
here is the TOKO® mock draft for the top 11 picks. Please note this isn't the level of quality of each player, nor what I would do... just what I believe each team will select.
1.BROWNS - Saquon Barkley!
2.GIANTS - Josh Rosen
3.JETS - Sam Darnold
4.BROWNS - Josh Allen
5.BRONCOS - Baker Mayfield
6.COLTS - Bradley Chubb
7.BUCS - Derwin James
8.BEARS - Tremaine Edwards
9.49ers - Denzel Ward
10.RAIDERS - Roquan Smith
11.DOLPHINS - Quenton Nelson

You know Fins, I agree with every single thing you say. However, I say, therefore, even moreso, let's swing for the fences with one of the top QBs. Of course if the projected draft on the other thread is true, they will all be gone by 11 and this is all academic.

Exactly right!
And you forgot to say tannehill is coming off an injury.
So why not draft a qb in the first round this year that there is a good crop and build around him through this years draft and the upcoming drafts...
We need a plan for the future.
If we win anything is going to be in the future not now.
TCPF believes that this year we can fill all the holes we have on this team..
But guess what....
Its going to take more than a couple of years to fill those holes and by then tannehill wont be playing...
