Dolphins NEVER, NEVER, NEVER, go in for drafting offensive line and defensive line first.

Hell, we ALWAYS FRIGGIN DO THAT! Always! Always! Always!

I'm sick of doing that.

So doing the right thing didn't work out....so go completely off the rails to serve you and your selfish petty emotions on draft day?

Did you even read my last post on the 83 draft? What about that draft makes you still think picking a #1 round QB will help anything? You think we missed on lineman, and Dline? The odds of hitting on a QB are much much worse.

AND WE HAVE A GREAT QB!! Just give him a chance.draft and build around him.

GO MIAMI!!!

That game didn't have any "playoff implications" *for the Dolphins* so why should they go all out to win? What, to play "spoiler" for Buffalo? As opposed to finally getting some serious game-time and evaluation film on a guy who might be their backup QB next year?

What a joke... Fales should have *started* the game... with Doughty as his backup. There was no reason to even dress Jay Cutler, much less play him.

If I was there as a fan when Bob Griese went to the Dolphins in the draft of 1967, that means I was also there when we drafted Dan Marino in 1983. Surprise you to know that he was the Sixth Quarterback drafted that year????? All in the first round.

But even moreso, do you know we had gone to the SuperBowl the January RIGHT BEFORE that April draft???????

I was there in the stands. It was the only SuperBowl held AT THE ROSE BOWL.

We had one of the greatest defenses you could see.

However, if we had completed one pass in the second half, (and that is no figure of speech), we would have won the game.

David Woodley did not complete a single pass.

The next year DON SHULA got into the John Elway Dan Marino Tony Eason Todd Blackledge Ken O'Brien Jim Kelly draft. All QBs picked in the first round.

Glad you weren't someone he would have listened to Treasure, you'd have him draft an offensive lineman probably saying that the reason that we hadn't won the SuperBowl against Washington was that we did not have a sufficient line enough to make Woodley a better passer.

Good while your on the floor explain to me why your so excited about the 83' draft again? It equaled only 2 Superbowl wins 15 yrs later by the Broncos.

That is the final result we are looking for right? Build the right team around a Good player will yield Great results.

GO MIAMI!!!

A quarterback the most necessary part.

While I feel you on the QB problem Chreyn, I think most of the guys on this board would feel like getting a great QB at this point would be akin to installing a Porsche engine inside of a Yugo. This vehicle just is not upper echelon- I do like the reasoning of trading down and getting more picks, more talent to fill this team up. I hated the Dion Jordan trade- not because I knew Dion Jordan was going to flame out but I hated it on pure lost value- We traded 2 unknowns to get 1 unknown. The math just doesn't work for me on trading up. Even the Eagles--who traded up for a nice QB- They probably won't go this year to the super bowl. Their guy is injured too, all that value lost. The Redskins wrecked their team for years to get RG III. According to some article, I am reading teams traded up 16 times to get a QB in the draft in between 2005-2017. of all 16 of those QBs, only 1 has got a Superbowl ring. Joe Flacco.

1/16= 6 percent chance of getting a winning super bowl QB from trading up.

And yeah, I am assuming the DOlphins would have to trade up to get one of the top guys this year. It's not worth it.

YES. Thats why when we had NO ONE and we were picking Punt returners I was Pissed!

I was all for a 1st round QB pick when we had no one but recycled 3 stringers and missed 2-3 picks in the draft.

Tanny has earned a shot with the Team and the admin ALL IN. Pick players to put him in a position to win.

GO MIAMI!!!

NO. I merely showed you that stating "WE HAVE TO TAKE A QB BECAUSE ITS A DRAFT CLASS EQUAL OR BETTER THEN 83 " Is a bullshit statement. Get the best QB in the draft and it doesnt automatically equal shit on a shingle.

DUH. Thats what I've been saying. He had no run game and no defense. Tanny needs what Marino always had.....a Great Oline.

YES. And the Dolphins DONT. Hence picking a QB with so many other issues is stupid.

I expect Tanny to be the QB for another 5-10 yrs. Help him win.

Chyrene you thought I was nuts when I was against the Dion Jordon trade. What a waste of value. We get those two draft picks back and get Olinemen with them, I dare to say we make the playoffs almost every season with Tanny.

Draft down. Scour the 2nd 3rd, 4th rounds. Thats our best option.

GO MIAMI!!!

Our best bet it to draft a QB to develop and to back up RT. If it works out that RT can't play, or retires, or whatever, that guy needs to have the raw talent and intelligence to become the starter at that time....second round is the best position to get that guy this year and also address other needs, JMO.

TCPF would be happy if we drafted a qb in the 5th 6th or 7th round...

He will then turn out as good as doughty,

Wow he was a great practice squadder wasnt he?

Lol.

Take the last 10 super bowls.

The majority was won by a 6th rounder , (Brady) Wilson was a 3rd rounder . Manning was a first rounder....took him almost a decade to win one.

What's your point Johnny? Yes Doughty was a great practice squader.Bret Farve started on Atlanta practice Squad. You want instant satisfaction so badly your willing to do anything for it. 1st round QB don't equal shit most of the time.

EXACTLY! That's why we need to draft down! Get more picks and more chances to hit on several positions of need.

Dont put words in my mouth and you are seeing only what you want me to be saying to fit your argument.

We could hit on Jake Long 2018 again. Great....But we still need Linbackers and CB's. A Center depth at almost every position including yes......QB.

1 single player isnt going to help us. BUT if we did pick a 1 st rounder I'd rather it be at a position of need rather then someone who "might" start 4-5 yrs from now.

Best plan is trade down , Turn 1 into 2-3 picks. Do it twice , get 5 additional picks. THATS how you improve this team. But it takes two to tango....I hope others want to move up desperately for a QB in this draft. We could be in a position to be on the receiving end of a Redskins type trade similar to the one made for RG III.

GO MIAMI!!!

Odds are very good of getting a good qb if we draft one in the first round.

Look at it this way....

The last two times we drafted a qb in the first round it worked really well...

Marino....And tannehill which wasnt a bust until he got hurt...

Tannehill wasnt as good as marino but we won some games with him.

__________________________________________________________

Not saying tannehill is a bust yet....That remains to be seen if he can play this year after the injury....

I begged for us to draft deshaun watson and they didnt even try to trade up.......Go back and look at it. when the draft was going on.

He is now looking like a great pick.....

This 2018 im hoping we can get someone like lamar jackson......or josh allen......

Nope. And leave Sam Sam to make his own points please.

Haven't we had issues every Damn season for the last 20 yrs? YES. Look back at our picks the last 20 yrs going back to 97 4 seasons we had no first rounder that's to the Ricky Williams debacle. The rest only 5 seasons we picked above the top 20. Why is that? Becuase you can't better your team pickng 1 hopeful playmaker at a time. How many times do you see the Patriots trade down. They always have extra picks out there asses.wake the F up. The smart choose is a trade, Build your team on day 2.

GO MIAMI!!!

The easiest way to blow away that argument is to point out that a comparison of the Patriots football wisdom to ours is like comparing the genius of Einstein to the capabilities of an average pre-schooler.

Maybe that's your problem. You're not figuring in the IDIOCY of our organization....RELY ON OURLADS....not the Dolphins organization.
