Don't know what your talking about. Just think a wasted draft pick is a wasted draft pick. We have so many holes and you want to blow opportunities to get more talent. If we score a top ten pick we need to draft down. Same with our 2nd pick. Start in the third or 4th rd with 15 picks. Flush the Oline, and our defensive secondary with talent. Throw enough shit on the wall , enough will eventually stick.
GO DOLPHINS!!!!

The case can certainly be made that a 'Franchise QB' is not needed to be winning and at the top of your division (Vikings & Keenum
now), to make the playoffs (Oakland and Dallas last year, Us & Feidler), to make the playoffs consecutively (Texans last two years) or even, VERY OCCASIONALLY, to win a super bowl (Ravens & Dilfer, Bucs & Johnson).
But to me this is trying to build a team based on the exceptions, the one shot wonders and the lucky few.
Currently, there are only four teams that have been to the playoffs more than twice in a row. Their QB's are Brady, Rodgers, Wilson and Rothlisberger.
There are only four teams that have had more than 3 winning seasons in a row (i guess parity is working). Their QB's are Brady, Wilson, Smith and Rothlisberger.
The case can also be made that HAVING a franchise QB doesn't equal the kind of success mentioned above. Brees, Ryan, Newton, Flaco. None of them have their teams in the place the 4 or 5 mentioned above. But all have taken their teams to SB's and most would recognize any of them as 'Franschise' level talent and their teams as contenders NEARLY each year. DO any fans outside of Dolphin fans HONESTLY think that about Tannehill and the Dolphins?
You don't have to have one to be successful once in a while and having one DOESN'T gaurantee success every year. But the kind of debacle we've been thru for well over a decade now is indicative of NOT HAVING A FRANCHISE LEVEL QB!
I don't care WHERE we get him trade, 1st round or 10th round, the misery will continue until hes found.

Ummmmmmm.......Dan Marino had his first knee surgery in college. Had about 16 all together. Wore a brace the last 7 yrs. Brady was out 1.5 yrs , had two surgeries. No problemo.
Ryan Tanehill is 10 x more athletic then either one of them and younger when he was hurt compared to them. You Want Tanny to be done. Always have.
Oline picks aren't sexy.....but we need to draft down and pick up a pair. Badly.
Geez let it go Counselor. This aint about Loyalty to Tanny. I even said back in spring training if Cutler works out THEN we need to trade Tanny for a bunch of picks. Obviously that didn't work out.
Finding a starting QB is harder then blowing a first round pick on some College stud. Time and again it doesnt work out. Sometimes it does like Ryan Tannehill. You dont blow first rounders on position you dont need just to satisfy your selfish craving or a sexy draft choice.
The dumbest move is blowing picks and moving up......Dion Jordon anyone? Smart is trading down and getting more picks of need. And WE NEED> OLINEMAN #1 , CORNERS , DB's and MLB. DT if SUH is gone like reported. A Fresh RB wouldn't hurt either.

RB in first round would have to be Ricky Williams calibur. We have two very decent RBs but a big power back would be nice......but also useless without a line to block for him. Best move is to trade down get Linemen and a RB.

AGAIN. I never said take a first round Linemen. TRADE DOWN. get several picks and fill positions of need and depth. First rounders costs alot to sign also. You can sign several rookies for what it's costs to sign 1 Prima donna.
I don't watch much college football, but it is my understanding that this draft looks good and deep in the QB category, so we can possibly get a serviceable QB in the later rounds. But, we MUST protect him. We need o-line desperately, but, with the state of offensive line players coming out of college not being up to the standards needed by the NFL, we should draft a few for grooming, but get several veteran linemen in free agency if we can. Unfortunately, due to the types of offenses used in colleges these days, the talents of even the most talented college linemen don't translate well to the pros. This state of affairs is widespread over the entire league, and its painfully obvious. Witness the Leremy Tunsil saga, although he is by no means alone. So, it takes time for young players to translate their skills to the pro game, if they can, because they have to basically re-learn their trade. Therefore, we must add several vets if we can. Other teams are quite aware of this problem and aren't going to let anybody that shows a modicum of talent go easily, but I think we must try. Maybe this is why Tannenbaum has blown it so badly the last couple of years.
Due to the poor state of o-line play from rookies in this league, I wouldn't waste a first rounder on one of them. I think we do need to draft a QB- but I don't think the first round is the time. Take one in middle rounds and then sit him a year, it seems to help. Personally, I think we need a tight end, if a first round worthy one is available.
