Coaching sucks no doubt. But its hard to see how the return of Don Shula in his prime would help much. A guy who was working as an announcer at QB with a has been who never really was at backup. No RB, No O-Line, No secondary, Keystone Cops for LB's, etc, etc. The problem is systemic. Another reset is coming, but based on Ross' choices and decisions so far, I don't have much hope the next one will be much better.

I got to listen to Adam Gase talking to the media following the game.

He was careful not to throw the entire team under the bus, as they say, but his words were weak commenting that if we could clean up all the mistakes, fewer penalties etc, things would be much better for the team. These things he said were in their control (unlike the weather the cost of tea in China etc--these are my words).

However, the mistakes by Cutler are decision making issues he's had his entire dismal career. The penalties are execution matters and I'm thinking they are related to lousy coaching and mentally stupid players.

Shula's teams were very well coached and his teams were typically the least penalized teams in the league. That speaks volumes on how disciplined the players were and focused on executing plays correctly.

No longer giving Gase a break, he's not the leader and quality HC I thought he might become. He's like all the other lightweights we've had since Jimmie Johnson.

We think of positioning to get quality prospects at draft time, however, what talent we do get in a collegiate player isn't going to blossom under this ragtag group of coaches. I'm afraid we are going to go into another reconstruction era following Gase's firing as march head on to a stellar 4-12 season. And,

we better look towards replacing Tannehill now. He's not going to blossom further with bad wheels and his risk factor for aggravating his injured leg is high in my opinion. He's history. If he was 90 percent of what he was, we'd have a stumbling and bumbling Jay Cutler.

I'm not a happy camper.

Colonel, I didn't see the game but your assessment of what's happening with this team seems to be spot on considering all that I've read during this season. Too bad.
