This inept turd burger was such a lazy hire by Tannenbum's fat ass!
That whole GM/Scouting department should have been flushed, and then extensively searched for replacements, back when Hickey was let go.

Greer's Alonzo-Maxwell trade was a stroke of stupidosity that ranks up there with moving up for Deon Jordan, drafting Johnathan Martin, and taking a semi-converted WR 8th overall to be our franchise QB with back-up talent. All of these acts of ineptitude have Chris Greer's fingerprints all over them.
Yet the guy gets a promotion instead of a pink slip.

Greer's inability to recognize and obtain o-line and LB talent, passing on the likes of Dak Prescott and Russell Wilson, and then choosing Adam Gashe as our HC, just spell how lame he is as GM, and how badly we need to find another.

Till then, we're screwed!

ss is!

Im okay with firing Greer. But the number one priority is hiring a HC,

It might not be Greer's player selection skills.
It's more likely a failure to identify and ability to hire or retain quality coaches.
When Bowles left us for New York, a big chunk of staff left with him
They've been doing pretty good over there with a horrible roster.
On the converse- look at Vance Joseph (from the Dolphins football tree), he went over to Denver and pretty much demolished a super bowl team. The players are still good in Denver- but it doesn't matter.

As they say in horse racing:
If the horse is good, and the driver is crummy, the horse is not going to win the race.

I'd still be ok with firing Greer- but let's identify the problem so it doesn't happen again and again like it has been season after season, decade after decade. It's been too long.

This team is so horribly built by our garbage front office.
The first major mistake was when Ross hired his NY buddy Tannenbaum to be the architect of his franchise.
Tannenbaum , then goes on to conduct an exhausting search for most important position in an NFL franchise, the GM.
So, after about a week, Tannenbaum stuck his fat head into the next office over, and hires/promotes the first guy he sees, Greer.
Someone who has been an integral part of one of the most inept GM/scouting depts for the last decade. What a brilliant hire!!
Since then,we've seen the like of Dallas Thomas, Billy Turner, Johnathan Martin, Deon Jordan, Ryan Tannehill, Byron Maxwell, Kiko Alonzo, and more hot garbage than one can shake a stick at!

Hey Mr. Ross:
The product on the field is a mirror reflection of your front office...get it?!!

What Ross should do is come to a couple of realizations. 1. He doesn't know the first thing about building a championship football team and he probably never will. 2. Tannenbaum doesn't know much more than Ross. 3. Ross needs to hire a smart young GM and give him total authority to run the show. 4. After this is done, Ross should just get out of the way.

Hiring and then getting out of the way is basically what Ross did when he hired Tannenbum...and that's when it all went sideways.
Until T-bum is gone, and a legit replacement is hired, it's just going to be Groundhog's Day every year.
I agree Fins72. We shouls hire a young(40ish) GM, from a proven organization, who has total control. One who would then dismiss Tannenbum, and his "no-clue" input and advise.
That's the ONLY way this thing will ever get better!

Socalphin, I'm in complete agreement. My point was replace Tannenbaum with a smart young GM. Eric Decosta comes to mind. Pay him whatever you have to pay him to pry him away from Baltimore. Tell him he is in total charge. Then give him the time necessary to fumigate this organization and regain functionality. If he wants his own coach, bye bye Gase. The whole scouting department needs to be redone. If it were up to me, Tannenbaum would be cleaning out his office as we speak.

Both Greer and Tannenbaum need to go. Until then, nothing will change for the better because bad choices will continue to be made. Both of them have a history that stinks. There needs to be some accountability here and I hope Ross will have some balls to do something about it.

Unfortunately for the long suffering fans, I suspect that Ross' balls are about as big as Tannenbaum's brain. Pea-sized.

Grier is a guy who had Harris higher than Reuben Foster. Yes, he should be fired.

It's even worse than that for Miami. They saw what Tannenbaum did to the jets and Ross still hired him. That kind of stupidity should be illegal.
