Good Idea, yes. Good Trade, no.

If they couldn't get more for him, the proper course of action would be to sit his butt on the bench, either while rotating carries with other RBs or, if absolutely necessary, for entire game(s) until he gets the message.

If he gets benched/shut then his reputation goes south as well. Instead he's likely to pick up a SB ring and we're getting a low round pick.

Good Idea,

Bad deal.

Can't say unless I know the particulars about WHY they got rid of him. If it was for some impertinence, then that was a stupid reason. The way you deal with a smartass is to say, "Okay, let's see you go out in next week's game and show us."

You don't trade him so that he goes to another team and "shows" you.

Just looked at Damien's first run. NOT the same. but that's just the first play.

Give it time....as the cook said.

I think getting rid of him was a good idea - Limited capabilities receiving and inconsistent running in my opinion, plus he had an attitude. Maybe that's why they only settled for a ham sammich and a bag of chips for him? But naturally we only saw what he was capable of doing with the typical substandard o-line this team has been putting on the field for years now.

Anyway I wish him the best, especially if he can do better with a better supporting cast.

Getting rid of Ajayi was irrelevant given the fact that this offensive line stinks. Ricky Williams in his prime wouldn't be able to get any yards behind this collection of misfit losers.

How could it possibly be a good idea? Who are you going to replace him with? Now you've got another gaping hole to fill in the roster.
This reeks of Gase trying to assert himself with a team that he lost months ago.

Tannenbaum will be in charge of making the pick. How good could it be?

Best player? Really?

Last season he needed to be motivated by being benched from the Seattle game.only then did he play. Great players don't need to be motivated constantly.

GO DOLPHINS!!!!

RESPONSE: Can you name one on the team better? .....errr......with the exception of Tannehill and him not because I believe Tannehill is better but because I know you do and I don't want to go down that road but giving you a pass on Tannehill.....who else on our team is better?

Is that person on our offensive line?

Is that person on our defense that allowed all those points?

Is that person a receiver?

Oh....maybe the kicker or the punter. Well, maybe one of those but I don't think so.

I just read an article that quotes Frank Reich of the Eagles saying that Ajayi was having no problems learning the plays and they felt comfortable that he would be able to handle the entire playbook for this weekend.
Not exactly what we were led to believe.
I wish him the best.

RESPONSE: Can you name one on the team better?

Landry ,Suh, Wake, Parker Alonso to name a few......we have some play makers , just no solid QB , no Oline, and no depth.

GO DOLPHINS!!!!

How did you get to Dan marino? And I'm not allowed to mention current QB Tannehill? eye rolling smiley Judge....OBJECTION! grinning smiley

You can say whatever you wish....Ajayi needs to be motivated. Great ones are motivated when they wake up. From what I saw from drake he's a burner. He gets some decent blocking he can be a force. Use the 4th rounder on a lineman.

GO DOLPHINS!!!!

Spent a full Thanksgiving day and turned on the Thursday night game to see Washington up 20 to 10 with about 1:50 to go over NYG.

NYG has the ball. QB throws a pass to a wide open receiver. He has room to just take the ball out of bounds to stop the clock.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!! He struggles for every forward inch and is tackled.

No doubt the Giants lose anyway as they did but every player has to be thinking about the team every play.

So.........Ajayi is just part of the generation. The only thing that matters is your stats and your paycheck.....to hell with the team.

I think the consensus is Ajayi was traded as a 'Statement' by Gase. Not sure what kind of a 'Statement' trading a guy away from our $h1t show and to a contender is???? Looks like the 'statement' would be seen as "You want out of this mess? Show yourself." Typical of our merry band of idiots.

Yup. When you have the teams Shula had, you could afford to show such examples, though Shula never had to. This team?????

The first example of this that came to mind with was when we kept Jim Langer over BoB DeMarco at center.

Then I remembered the Freddie Solomon trade. Solomon was one of my favorite receivers in the late 70s and I was pissed off when we traded him to San Francisco. Solomon went on to win two Super Bowls with the 49ers.

So perhaps Ajayi will be the modern day's Freddie Solomon trade. We'll see.
