Draft Josh Rosen in April provided he falls that far....But who knows, we might have a very high pick.

I predict Miami will be in a slot around 20.

That would mean he would have to fall to no. 12 or we would have to trade up.

OR Cutler would have to be an epic fail. RELAX. We haven't even played game #1 yet and you are all picking a QB with our #1.

GO DOLPHINS!!!!

I don't care where we fall. We are not picking a QB with a #1 When we have options like Tannehill and Cutler.i can't wait to see this offense explode this year.

GO DOLPHINS!!!!

Not like you to give up. drinking smiley

But seriously. Our Starting QB situation is far from bad despite the injury. And we have $20 million invested a yr at the position currently . We still have issues at CB , MLB, and OLine. Threads that even mention any QB prospects are just silly.

GO DOLPHINS!!!!

If this front office has any grasp of reality they would grab a qb quick in next years draft.

Sam Donald
Josh Allan
Lamar Jackson
Josh Rosen
Mason Rudolph
Luke Falk
Baker Maysfield
Matt Linehan

all will probably develop into starters.

if we go 6-2, 7-2 8/9 games consider extending Cutler for 2018. Tanne's 15 mil goes in the free agency pot for other positions.

Okay. Even though I was just calculating our record based on his statement that we would draft at no. 12, I'll play since you want to force me.

All logic says that if a good enough QB falls to us, we take him.

When I first fell in love with football playing Pee Wee in Oklahoma at the age of 10 in 1958, it was a Jim Brown fullback game.

Only with Unitas and Joe Willy did the QB come into prominence.

Now it is completely a QB game.

Even Great Defenses like the Ravens get respect but in the final analysis never get the ring.

On this board I have always been the one to criticize the "quarterback is the only player" philosophy....search it.

But dang, we just can't look at next season. We have to look with at least one eye on the future.

If in the upcoming draft, it's not doable, then it is not doable.

But we at least have to have ONE EYE on the future, even it nothing good comes our way NEXT year.

If only....

But, I don't believe it. I may not agree with you very often, but I have an idea what kind of opponent you'd be, so..I don't believe it.

As I've said before, we should be drafting a QB almost every year.

" Only with Unitas and Joe Willy did the QB come into prominence. "

I absolutely do not agree with this statement, but I do agree with the general tenor of your point.

"Even Great Defenses like the Ravens get respect but in the final analysis never get the ring."

Uhh, they DO have a ring.

There is an old saw that proves over and over again to be true: "Offense puts butts in the seats, but Defense wins championships."

In the pros....yes in college the Quarterbacks of the 20s and 30s and 40s were renown but in the pros it was a running game.

Sorry, my mistake. It must not have been against the Patsies otherwise I would have remembered.

Good. I will steal that one from you

They have TWO rings!

It was against the Giants (the first ring), but it was forgettable perhaps because the quarterback was that thrilling gunslinger Trent Dilfer. grinning smiley

Second time around, it was a much more memorable game. It was against the 49ers, and was the Harbaugh Brothers Brawl. Brothers coaching against each other, what a hoot. Winning QB was Joe "Skinny" Flacco (that nickname in quotes was for you, SamSam).

Yes, he had Jim Brown and Marion Motley, but I still don't think Otto Graham would agree with you, and there were MANY others- Y.A. Tittle,
Sammy Baugh, Bobby Lane, Norm Van Brocklin.....and on and on. They just had a far more balanced offensive philosophy in those days, but they still threw a LOT, and very effectively.

"Offense puts butts in the seats, but Defense wins championships."
I think Dr. Z (Paul Zimmerman) said this many years ago. Great writer.

Yeah. Because NOT drafting a QB worked so well for the Pats, t
Greenbay , and others that win consistently. When will you people understand the concept and reality that NFL Football is about Teamwork? Ask Dan Marino why he doesnt have a ring. His defense sucked like Paris Hilton . And we wont have enough defense this year again becuase when we score 35 points , it will let 36 go.

GO DOLPHINS!!!!
