Still a Phins fan in San Diego

Aloha people -

I've been invisible for a while...Upended my life in Hawaii and moved to San Diego this past March. Tired of $7 for a gallon of milk. Been very busy. Sold the house where I left and am Phinally shopping for one here now.

Now that the Chargers have moved to L.A., I doubt many of the locals here wold bash me for being a Phins fan. Locals here are pissed their team is gone thanks to an owner who's more of an ass than Ross.

I see that Miami has been busy this off-season. And it looks like RT17 has an injury that was worse than we all thought. Good decision to let him heal properly and not risk ending his career prematurely.

I found out only yesterday that Cutler is on board now and I see there are some mixed feelings about that. I'm confident that Gase brought him here knowing he can work with him being his former offensive coordinator. Cutler has had a few pretty decent seasons and I think between him as a starter here and Moore as the backup this team can get the job done. IMO Cutler was the best option out there for this team to fill the void that RT17 has left due to injury. No doubt in my mind that we can reach the playoffs again if Tanny is out until then provided the rest of the team doesn't fall apart to injury during the course of the season.

Welcome to San Diego, 808phan, although the way Jerry Brown is going, you may regret coming to California, period!

I am also here in San Diego, and have been since 1995, when I retired from the Air Force. Speaking of Aloha, I was also stationed in Hawaii from 1976-1981.

Chryen mentioned he believes Miami should go with Moore until he proves he can't do it. I'm not too sure on that; Cutler is the better QB with a stronger arm. Yes, Moore did a good job finishing up for RT last season, but he didn't show much vs Pitt in the playoff game.

Moore is the best back up QB in the NFL. We'll see where Cutler is, probably in the second game.

With or without RT, Miami needs Ajayi. Right now, he is still in concussion protocol. Haven't heard where he is in that. More than likely we won't see much of him during the preseason.

Anyway, again, welcome to San Diego.

What about the rookie qb we drafted last year?

Is he that bad that nobody even mentions him.

???? Doughty, whom we drafted last year, played much of the game Thursday night. He's still got a long way to go to even be relevant.

He was terrible i agree but the receivers were running bad routes at times.

I agree he is still long ways to go.

Small world!

I retired from the AF in 2015. Right now I'm working out at the Navy Lodge on North Island for extra spending $. I told myself years ago I'd never live in CA. Buying a bottle of water at a hotel out in town 5 years ago after my last deployment at a Yellow Ribbon conference changed my life forever. Married the gal last Nov who sold it to me. Jerry Brown...lol!

Regardless of the resistance on this board, I think it will be Moore starting, then Cutler, and Doughty might lose out to Fales who played better than him last night. What was up with that? Did Doughty get nervous???????

I thought Doughty looked better than I thought he would, but with the exception of a couple of lucky throws, Fails was TERRIBLE. Oh, Fales? is that how you spell it?
On another note, I also hope Moore is the starter.

agreed...I have the football at 1 oclock sundays feeling again.....
Hopefully we can be competitive with so many injuries.

Gase needs to go into the lucky bags of tricks again with cutler.

Personally I could care less who starts, I just want to at least have a Wildcard shot. I can't stand missing the playoffs. I got so spoiled in the Marino/Shula days, since then it's been nothing but a friggin' nightmare being a Dolphins fan. This team once had respect. We've had some really bad coaching and front office drafting for years. The QB position was undervalued for so long with no franchise caliber QB. So we draft players like Jake Long to protect Chad fricken Henne instead. Jake was great in his time, wasted time though protecting scrub QB's eye rolling smiley
