What is everyone's expectations now that we are post season bound? Are we happy to just get there, or do we have to win a game or two to be considered a success?

Oh and just to weigh in on something I was reading in another thread. RT is the phins qb. Moore has played well and done his job, but RT is leaps and bounds better of a passer than moore. I've watched RT March down the field and win games late this year. Moore had ajayi handle the load it seems. Either way, what a win!!!

I have low expectations for the Dolphins in the playoffs this year. I think by making the playoffs makes this year a success. A win would great. I think the team needs another good offseason to have the talent to compete.

Miami is now the fifth seed, which means they will play Houston.

Miami has a very good shot at winning that game. After that?

I am happy that Miami FINALLY is in the playoffs, and even if they don't win a playoff game, the season has been a success (especially after what we have seen for quite a while). A playoff win is icing on the cake.

Miami is the 6th seed. They need to beat NE and have KC lose to move up to the 5th seed.

Win or lose in the playoffs this season has been a success.

This is not a an overly talented team. What they've accomplished changing the culture of this team is impressive.

I saw Joseph compared to Olividatti in another thread. He's coaching an LB corp with an MLB playing out of position and a bunch of backups. His starting CBs are a rookie and 2nd year pro. He's done an admirable job with that unit.

This team does not quit. No matter how many blows they take they keep fighting. That's all you can ask for.

At 1-4 I thought we had screwed up again with another 1st time coach. What a great job Gase has done getting this team to buy in.

So win or lose in the playoffs there's a lot to look forward to this offseason and next year.

Very happy we made it to the post season. But my feeling for the team at the start of the season was 8-8. This season has already been a success. After a team starts 1-4 it is very tough to finish with a winning record especially when you consider our schedule. We exceeded that and swept the Jets and Bills...when was the last time that happened.

We have a RB that's the equal of ANY back in the league and a QB that made a lot of improvement in RT. The arrow is pointing up on the team right now. That's a great thing.

As far as the playoffs, I don't think we will do very well but that is not the point. We have too many injuries and too many holes to fill right now to think we'll go very far in the post season...but then again this team has been beating the odd's most of the season so it could happen.

A really good LB or two, another upgrade or two on the O-Line, a big play TE, another CB and some more quality depth and we are the equal of ANY team in the league for 2017.

Phins up...lets go Dolphins!

You are entitled to your opinions. If I think your opinions are foolish, that's my opinion. This isn't a political site, let's get back to football opinions where we are supposed to be.

Micheal Brown wasn't shot in the back. WTF . You liberals in California love making this stuff up.

He was shot point blank in the chest after robbing a store and trying to kill a cop. It was proven by a federal inquiry trying to hang that cop out to dry.and he wasn't young.

Have any opinion you want...but at least quote facts.

This season is already a success to me. I thought we'd go 6-10 or maybe 7-9. To even get to "winning season" is enough to make this season a success. Playoffs is just icing on top. To actually win a playoff game... well, it could happen given that we already beat Pittsburgh once. But I'm not counting on much more at this point.

I agree . I've had such a great time with my family , especially during that 6 game streak . I kind of knew we turned a corner when we beat Pittsburgh. Thats a solid team.

With MM at the helm, we get smoked in the 1st round.

The D gets exploited by well coached teams, which is who we'll face in the playoffs. And MM wont be able to keep up against good Ds that know how to tackle. There won't be any fluke TDs as there were in Buffalo.

Once we solidify the LB positions, and strengthen our o-line, we'll be legit contenders. We're almost there.

SoCal, while Moore is not as quick and mobile with his feet as Tanny, he does not have to be because Tanny's brain slows him up and makes him the "deer in the headlights."

Again, the NFL would not have named Moore the "Player of the Week" if he did as bad as you guys see him in that game. I think far from just refuting your beliefs that Moore is not a good quarterback that kind of establishes our point that he is at least as good as Tanny.

OK, I went back and checked and see that Tannehill was named player of the week in October 2015.

Deer in the headlights you keep talking about is bullshit.

Never saw it this year......why? He used to hold on to the ball because he was trying to make a play. Philbin never liked him, never coached him. never believed in him. But he still did better then OK. Olines collapsing around him, no running game, receivers who are not open or drop the ball, he always tried to make a play and often got sacked.

Was he perfect ? No. My biggest problem with Ryan is that he had alot of passes batted down at the line. He's 6'4" that shouldn't be an issue. Again....lack of coaching never helped him with his mechanics.

GASE is an elite Head Coach. He came to Miami BECAUSE of Ryan Tannehill.
Let that sink in for a second. He didn't give a shit who the back up was.

RYAN TANNEHILL. Stop with this deer in the headlights bullshit. You make him sound like he's a moron. I believe he had one of the highest scores on the Players aptitude test coming out of the draft.

How many Offensive coordinators has he had in 5 yrs? How many new receivers? He learned those new schemes quickly. He tried to make plays. Matt Moore is better with coach Gase as well.

Stop with the bullshit already Chyrene. Gase knows a great QB when he sees one.

GO DOLPHINS!!!!

You can't just order someone to adopt your point of view. Everybody can see the faults of Tannehill. And stats and violent disagreement is not going to make him into the great player you see. Again, the last time he got MVP was October OF LAST YEAR, 2015. HOW MANY GAMES DID HE PLAY IN BETWEEN???? MATT MOORE PLAYS ONE GAME AND IS NAMED MVP OF THE WEEK.

That's too simplistic. Andrew Luck has a whole team with him as does Tanny and Moore true but no one has questioned the grade A performance of Andrew Luck. He has proved his no. 1 pick. If a person can't see the tentative nature of Tannehill particularly when not running an option, I need to save my breath.

Moore is a traditional pocket set QB and that is why he is MVP after one week when Tanny has gone through the last two seasons and only got his MVP a year ago October and that was after how many years playing??????

I really think what's happening here is that you guys are conservative by nature, not talking politics but uneasy with making a change, respectful of precedence and order and believing that if a guy was picked for a job over the other than he must deserve it.

Tannehill was picked by Bill Ireland, Joe Philbin and that boss of ours Stephen Ross (apologies to the memory of Joe Robbe).

That's a great recommendation....NOT!!!!

To me, he came with something to prove.

He never showed it in the pro set. I saw a clip of him at Texas A & M, I saw him swagger in the option set they ran.

Yet you conservative people, like the students that never challenge the teacher but are all too willing to tar and feather the kids who want to instigate change....stick with dullards who don't see the facts before their face.

Tanny has say in the plays but does not call them completely.

Gase understands Tanny's natural talents more than Philbin but I think not as much as he should.

Sports has resistance to change.

The forward pass was frowned on at the beginning of football when it was more of a rugby game.

Times change folks. Either change with it or get out of the way.

Either let Tanny run the type of offense that fits his skill set or ride Moore the rest of the way.
