I was listening to Led Zeppelin, Jimi Hendrix & the Rolling Stones back then. Did dudes even listen to the Carpenters? I know my sister liked them. I'm sorry Chyren, I'm not trying to imply that you were a sissy back then.... lol

The worst thing that ever happened to music was MTV...looks and a video became more important than the actual music after that.
Bands like the Rolling Stones, Nazareth, BTO, Uriah Heep, Montrose, etc, etc. Would not have been given a chance during the 80's because they were a bunch of ugly guys, but they could play.
Then we got bands like Poison and Whitesnake...mostly pretty guys.
Then Grunge came and that didn't help anything because most of those bands weren't good musicians.
Music has largely never recovered, innovation and creativity is gone, everyone sounds like everyone else and is formulaic, Rap, Hip Hop, Pop, whatever is all about image and to find great musicianship now you have to turn over rocks. No offense to anyone who thinks otherwise.
Rolling Stones just came out with a new blues disc....with Eric Clapton on it! made my Holiday.......
Give me the Allmans, Clapton, Stevie Ray Vaughn , ZZ Top with some Van Halen for Hot sauce and never forget.....without bb King, Muddy Waters, and Chuck Berry NONE of it exists.
