Gase is doing something that Philbin didn't and should have. Although these are tough times folks, Gase is at least taking notice and trying to take out some of the garbage. And he sure has a lot of it. I bet those two end up nowhere else in the NFL.

Now, let me see if I understand the situation. Tannenbaum was in charge of free agency. I assume that being in charge of free agency for a team means that you evaluate the players that are on the roster to see if they're good enough or whether you should replace them. Tannenbaum has all of last year and the offseason to do his evaluation. The amount of tape on Turner and especially Thomas was voluminous. He goes into the season with both of them. Now, 5 games into the season, with the season lost, they're cut. One further point is that these two players, particularly Thomas, were the ones that even casual fans have been begging to be cut.

You cannot run an NFL franchise like this. I haven't seen this kind of incompetence in.... I'm not sure... I'll have to think about it because right now nothing comes to mind. Can you imagine what Pittsburgh is going to do this collection of misfits? They're 9.5 point underdogs at home! I'd give the points in a nanosecond. I honestly think that Pittsburgh might hang 50 points on this team. Does Ross even for a second realize that he's responsible for this debacle? Has he even contemplated that Tannenbaum's brainless ineptitude will result in the worst record in football? Does it cross his mind that Browns fans are likely saying, "Hell, it could be worse. We could be Dolphins fans."

Someone help me to understand why this moron insists on doing things that insure the continued mediocrity of this team. Does he like losing? Perhaps he's a masochist & this is his way getting pleasure? I just want to understand why he continues to make these utterly brain dead hires and decisions.

I'm revisiting this thread on a different note. My comments come following two victories, one against the Steelers, the other against the Bills.

Amazing how releasing Turner and Thomas somehow changed the offensive line. I sense these guys were like ball and chain, holding the mental attitude of the o-line back. They proved to be less than good back-ups...and...never had a real chance to become first string. Our first string is doing a very credible job. Two pieces of dead wood are gone...what a difference it apparently has made.

Agreed.....And i add to that maybe the fear of losing their jobs might make them play even at a higher level. JMO.
