Next, to SamSam. You seem to say that the difference between Rodgers and Tanny is Rodgers ability to improvise.

It's more than that but on the Tanny side. Tanny does not improvise. He freezes until he gets sacked.

In his first year, I was screaming for him to throw the ball out of bounds. I thought he was trying to hard.

Now, I think he just freezes.

Your missing my point. Not saying Tanny would have won , cant compare him to Marino or Marino to him. Dan has the best arm EVER. But he cant run. Never could. Just saying that Tanny has strengths also and with the right chemistry and a killer Oline he could be great too.

GO DOLPHINS!!!!

En-how brother. AND he still managed to put up 4000 yds passing and a couple hundred on the ground AND stay relatively healthy. This team sucks. Our drafts have been terrible and it shows.

GO DOLPHINS!!!!

I've been in RT's corner since he was drafted and agree with ya that he has run into many problems, team, FO, coaches, etc. However, some of the problems are on him; that's just the way it is with the QB position.

IMO, this is the year where he either shows he is the guy or...he isn't. If he doesn't start playing like the franchise QB he is supposed to be (his contract indicates he is the guy) then this could be the last year we see him in Miami. But, saying that, it would depend on who Miami could get either in FA/trade, or the draft.

Naturally, tho, he would go to another team and become All Pro.

But SamSam, you would expect, (unless of course it is a blockbuster trade where you trade a big name for another big name), guys who leave one team to (unless they leave after their rookie year) to be out of football because you only let go of guys for lack of talent after a few years because teams don't let go of good players but Brandon Marshall has been gone since....what...the Henne years????? There are others too...I just can't name them now...one of them is a tight end who was a Dolphin long ago. Just look at almost any other game and you'll hear the name of one of them.

Maybe if we tried to keep some of them we would be much better.

What good does it do to let go of your groomed talent.

There were hints on all of these players that said they were keepers.

Not with tannehill is my point.

I agree, only because he's not going to be a pocket QB, gotta try something to get our moneys worth. That said, I'm pretty certain he would get hurt, he just would. I heard 'Cam Newton' mentioned?!?! THill is like 40 pounds lighter than Cam Newton and his build is different. The best athlete can't overcome physics...like RGIII found out.

Word is out on the way to beat Cam and defenses are adapting (thanks DEN). Wild cat, run & shoot & roll outs are just fads. A qb has to command a complete offense and execute it. A DC would love a roll out qb he (roll out qb) automatically takes away half the field. Tanne does not have Cams arm and a good DC would eat him alive. Dropping back in the pocket and running the O is the way.

I read that Philbin wanted to draft Derek Carr but was overruled. If true, I wonder what would have happened. Carr looks very good with Oakland. He has pocket presence, a good arm, and good mobility. It's an interesting what if.

Let's take this step by step. Tannehill would not have been drafted unless he was good in College. Step one.

So let's look at his college films and highlights and see what he did.

I don't know the answer and have not but after I post this, I'm going to go looking for those highlights.

Remember he was drafted 8th by us. Even we were not stupid enough to draft a complete unknown at no. 8 in the first round with no expert expecting him to go that high.

But I really doubt I will see a traditional drop back QB.

My question is......if the films show a read option QB.....then you guys arguing against running it have two boulders to smash.

First, since he is obviously not good in the pocket, why was he changed .....

Second boulder, or more importantly, why not switch him back.
