Short week...not a good thing

We suit up to play Cincy Thursday night. Our befuddled coaches will be behind the "8 ball" again. A short week doesn't give these coaches adequate time to prepare a decent game plan, IMO. It's bad enough when there are a couple of extra days to get it together and work out the kinks with the players. If it sounds like a negative outlook, it is. I hate having such an attitude about the team. Game play and coaching isn't and has changed for the better and being routed is very possible.

I won't be surprised if Cincy scores 35 points against our feeble defense. And, nobody knows how many fumbles, interceptions, sacks and self-inflicted penalties will nullify our offensive play. I expect lots of 3 and outs Thursday night. sad smiley

Speaking of our coaches, I just can't help remember how our coaches in Lawton Douglass in Oklahoma were different from the Miami Dolphin coaches post Shula. There were always the guys who were heralded as pre-season greats and were given the starting lineup.

However, once in game situations, they would freeze or not show their practice selves. The coaches would then yell at the bench and ask, "Can anybody do this?"

That's how, by raising my hand, I got my starting center job and was all-league.

The absence of job security is a good thing in sports.

It could get ugly really fast if the run defense continues to stink like it has so far. Jeremy Hill must be salivating over this match up.

Gase needs to call a good game. Shorten it. 2 TE sets committing to the run. Sneak a TE out of that set, run play action and take some shots down field but don't put it all on Tanne's shoulders.

Quit expecting our QB to be someone he's not.
