I have a solution to the whole problem. Line both end zones with American flags. If the individuals on the team won't stand in honor of the flag which is a symbol of the system that allows them to protest in the first place; lets see if they'll run towards those symbols the entire game. If they refuse to play then cut them from the roster immediately.

See I solved the entire issue with the cost of maybe 100 flags.

Had to leave after post above. Tamir Rice was a 10 year old. Yesterdays fool was, unlike Tamir, pointing the gun at the cop whilei in an alley or basement. Tamir was a park and the cops started shooting before getting out of the police car.

I believe those officers are being charged correct? It's a HUGE responsibility to carry a weapon. It can be daunting. Some fail...can't handle the stress .most do not.

Shooting a child under any conditions must be mind blowing. For pro athletes who make 100x more for playing with a ball to suggest the police are "hunting" people of color....that's just beyond ignorant and the NFL should not allow such statements. Especially when law enforcement does so much for them.it's despicable.

Not standing, saluting and paying respects to that very flag that gave all races freedom to begin with. The very flag that represented the Union who defeated the South and their rebel flag. The flag that fought for everyone to be free. Lets not stand and pay our respects to the thousands of soldiers who fought that civil war and lost their lives to bring slavery to an end and begin the creation of a country where everyone could eventually live united and peacefully as brothers and sisters regardless of race or color.

When people can stop pointing fingers and making everything about race is the day everyone can unite and improve the situation. It's not just blacks dying. Look at the statistics. And police officers have made some bad decisions on taking white lives too. The only difference is white people aren't running around pointing fingers to a race issue when it happens. Again, can you blame police for the very few incidents after what position society puts them in patrolling streets with these criminals? Yes I said very few incidents. Do you have any idea how many of these incidents happen everyday in this country and don't result in someone losing a life? Open your eyes and see what these officers deal with on a daily basis. I would say they are doing pretty damn good percentage wise when it comes to accidents or bad decisions. It comes with the territory on occasion.

Can you not see how these criminals disrespect and threaten police lives everyday? The real issue in this country is not about race. It's about society and all of the criminals and thugs out there that have no respect for anybody else. These thugs are White, Black, Asian, Hispanic and every other race imaginable. These are the thugs that have police officers on alert and quick to react defensively. We all need to focus on the youth and get this whole "Gangsta" and thug routine out of here. As stated above, I agree with you about the flag, Finman. It should not be brought into this for the reasons that both you and I stated, particularly for how the federal government was our only ally for years in the fight for the end to discrimination.

Now, as far as police vs. Black Lives Matter, both sides need to take a chill pill and BLM needs to recognize the importance of the cops and cops need to break away from the understandable but WRONG way of thinking that since Blacks commit crimes disproportionately (because of economics) then if you stop and search Blacks, you are more likely to come up with a "good bust."

As an appellate prosecutor that has had to argue to uphold those stops and searches, I have seen too many times not only the search, but the arrests and the evidence gathered from those illegal stops thrown out because there was no probable cause to stop in the first place.

I would not wait to get shot. The people he robbed believed it was a real gun. I hate a young kid got killed but where are his parents teaching him not to pull a gun or a fake gun on anyone. Parents need to stop being friends to their kids and be their parents.
