It gets to the point that it's more about the spectacle and attention than it is the cause.

That female soccer player that was going to kneel was pissed she didn't get the chance because the team exercised their right to play the anthem before the players were on the field. She didn't get that and felt she was denied something.

This isn't about the Flag. This is about ignorant millionaire professionals who should know better disrespecting law enforcement. I'm sick of it. I live it day in and day out.

Don't you get it? This is my weekend, my family time. These players have no right to bring it here. It's selfish and ignorant. The NFL has no problem telling the Cowboys they can't honor 5 Officers murdered/executed while protecting people while protesting.

If 1 Miami Dolphin participates I'm done for the season. I will spend my Sundays elsewhere. Test me.

GO DOLPHINS!!!!

Reminds me of how celebrities in Hollywood & elsewhere use their fame to display their political views. Makes me sick.

If an athlete doesn't want to honor the flag and the anthem, then they should stay in the locker room adjusting their jocks until it's over. I don't want to see these clowns.

I have personally strapped flag draped caskets of fallen warriors onto the cargo decks of the aircraft that brings them home from battle, and when I hear the anthem and see our flag I sometimes have to hold back tears. For me the the flag and anthem represent the ultimate sacrifice that so many have made to protect our constitution and the freedom that it represents. Anything other than respect for our flag and anthem is unacceptable in my book.

It's simple. If people don't like what's going on with our society then get out there and vote and do something constructive to change things.

If everyone that has issue with this, spent Sundays elsewhere and the outcome effects the players pocket, lets see how committed they are to the cause!!!

Well, SOMEONE is taking notice. Believe it or not, this is NOT about the flag...this is NOT about the troops...this is about our rights as Americans HERE AT HOME! The battle we're fighting is on our own soil. I'm amazed at how many of you guys refuse to see that.

These "protestors" need to do a little research before they take their "stance."

Protesting police? Do some research...there are a LOT more black-on-black killings than police-on-black.

Instead of "not standing" during the National Anthem, why doesn't Kap and the rest of them visit the inner cities and help them? Where were these athletes (and celebrities) during the summer months when they had plenty of time on their hands to do some good for the "oppressed people" (as Kap phrased it)?

Whether you agree or disagree how it was accomplished, the stated goal of this action was to get a dialogue started. This goal was accomplished completely, the discussion is going on everywhere.

Yeah, but you (Colin) don't want to lose support for your cause, what you should try to do if you are him is make a statement in a way that supports your cause, not offends people who are neutral or unaware of the issue.

Exactly! Kaepernick fell on his sword for the cause, and he appears to have accomplished his mission.

But offending people IS the way to make a statement. Anything else and the news would have come and gone. Fact is, those that are offended (including one person on this board) are just proving Kaepernick right. They want to sweep the issue under the rug and pretend it doesn't exist. Now it's out in the open and is just getting bigger. More power to them!

While I respect peoples right to free speech, I must say as a business owner I think it is kind of nonsense.. When you are working for me and representing my brand or my logo, you no longer have the right to do whatever you want.. On your own time and when you are not working have at it.. But If I was the owner of the team and some one was representing my brand and logo, draped in it, I would be pissed off and that person would no longer work or represent my brand.. No matter what the protesting was about. Also as a coach I would be annoyed as well, don't we hear all day long from coaches, how bad distractions are for teams... Isnt this a huge distraction for teams? Kapernick and Marshall are getting interviews about this more then the star players about the game.. I am surprised, the owners, coaches and league are putting up with it, to be honest... I think the players should find another way, while people are discussing it, I don't think it has benefitted anything or anyone towards their cause... But hey, maybe I am wrong...

Guess you didnt read my last post. exactly how I felt.

Kenny Stills , Jenkins, Foster and another loser knelt down.

Its a shame select players dont respect the fans and only themselves.

jsm08 I did not know that about his fiance. That really explains alot .

Its a shame that this BLM crap has to spill over to Americas favorite pastime. It starts at the Top and hopefully in November a new atmosphere or respect will be ushered in to help make America great again.

GO DOLPHINS!!!!

Thanks Chyren... I guess my point is really that free speech doesn't apply to the work place... I don't push my political or religious beliefs on my employees.. So it is a mutual respect... Business is about business.. For example I am a gator but I don't make my fandom for the gators apparent in my business.. I don't want FSU or UM fans not doing business with my company because of their dislike for the gators.. Unless you are in a political business, business should be apolitical... Same with politics, religion, whatever... It is just bad business.. I heard Trent Difer speak today and he said there are lots of important issues to make a stand about, but if every player made a stand for some cause and a subsequent protest you are just taking away from the team and making it about you and your beliefs.. That is true across the board for business.. I honestly understand the issues but business or teams isn't about the individual it is about the team or collective of your business.. What happens if players they don't like how the police are being treated all started to protest by turning their backs as the anthem was being played to bring notice to their cause or belief.. What do we have then... A total shit show... We all have things and injustices in the world that we feel strongly about.. Should everyone just make it their intiativd to place that above all else? Above team, above the business... Where does it end? Every persons belief is as strong to them as it is for the next guy.. No ones cause is any less just then the next...

It's amazing how different this thread sounds if you read ChyrenB's posts as sarcasm...because that's how they sound.

There's no way to misinterpret Treasure. He just gets one of these eye rolling smiley

Crowder has missed the point completely. The NFL is an owner's league...the NBA is a player's league. The players in the NFL are starting to stand up for themselves. These guys are NOT totally expendable to the owners. They make tons of money for the owners and the NFL in general. They proved that in the strike year (when the replacement players came in), but it has been forgotten.

I may be the only person on this board that is siding with Kaepernick, et al. I'm actually finding so much of this thread humorous now, because you guys are freaking out over nothing while continuing to miss the entire point.
