He looked really bad. I don't think Gase's system suits him. He's a gunslinger. He wants to throw it downfield, but Gase didn't give him a chance. He's also, obviously, very green when it comes to playing under center (he played shotgun nearly his entire college career), and his technique in handing off the ball isn't great. He stands straight up when he hands off the ball and just stands back.
I still think Daughty is going to be a good QB, but probably not for Miami. Gase has been working closely with Dysert, who appears to have overtaken Doughty on the depth chart (seeing has he played before Doughty in the game). Doughty was left playing with the 3rd-string. I thought he'd get a chance with some starters and 2nd stringers since Moore was out, but Gase is more familiar with Dysert (who was with him in Denver last year).
I still notice how Daughty tries to take control when he's in the game, directing the offense, but he's obviously being handcuffed by Gase.
I was also disgusted at the fact that Gase forced Doughty to take a knee at the end of the game...TWICE! Dude...this is preseason. WTF are you taking a knee to end the game? Give guys on the bubble a chance to show what they can do!!

It seemed obvious to me. There's something going on there between the 2. Doughty didn't look right, like he's unhappy or uncomfortable with the situation. Maybe it's a ego thing? I'm not sure. The play calling was suspicious, and so was the fact that Dysert played ahead of him.

I don't get it. Doughty had to play behind our 3rd string O-Line with RBs and WRs that probably aren't making the team. How is that caution?

You guys are forgetting one thing.......Mat Moore got injured. He should be playing alot more then both Dysert and Doughty.
They are both getting more opportunity then usual. Also it highlights what they lack against professional competition.
Also GASE is not just inspecting QB's out there, this is the preseason and he's looking at entire position drills. Plays are called for different reasons in the pre season , not just to showcase QB abilities. Especially 3 stringers.
Doughty was being hyped in training camp. I expressed ability to wait until the Pads come on before you guys anoint him anything. Its obvious he has ability , but calling him a Gunslinger being oppressed by the new head coach is kinda out there. Hes a 3rd stringer with great college ball abilities that was still taken in the 7th round and not taken by every other NFL team.

By that logic, you'd think Tom Brady and Tony Romo would be no-good scrubs as well.

This is what I meant when I said "bingo," Treasure.
Matt Moore gets injured and other people on this board are actually SURPRISED that a quarterback previously WAY DOWN ON THE LIST gets more playing time....?????...Duh.

What...are you dense? Of course someone else will get playing time if Moore is hurt, but the surprise was WHO got the playing time. You'd think Moore's replacement would be the next guy in line. Why would you give your 4th string QB reps with your 1st/2nd team while leaving your 3rd string QB to play with scrubs?
I think you guys are reading too much about doughty and dysert playing order in the last game. Doughty got a more desirable playing time in preseason games 1 and 2. Gase may have just was to see dysert playing in real life action with #2's, rather than a bunch of camp bodies. I have a feeling doughty is going to be cut and stashed on the practice squad, unless he has a really good game this week.

What are YOU dense? Did you see Doughtys play in the first Pre season once the Pads came on? How many INT's did he throw? hes at 4th string because thats where he belongs now. Your insinuation that GASE is playing favorites on his first NFL head Coach gig is more stupid then dense.

Take a chill pill, dude, and actually READ my posts. I'm not saying Doughty deserves to be above Dysert. I'm just reporting what I saw. Oh, and coaches play favorites all the time...especially with QB's they've coached before. If you knew ANYTHING about NFL history, you would have known this!!

Question is, if Moore is injured going into the regular season, which QB will we have on the main roster, Doughty or Dysert?

Yeah...yeah. But, based on that, we should be playing our ROOKIE (Doughty) more than the 2nd-year player that Gase already knows because he was in Denver last year. RIGHT????

Brandon finds completions, that is his game. They are asking him to do progressions instead, which throws him off his natural God given abilities. IF they just let him play he will excel.
Gase did handcuff him quite a bit. on the 6 plays I saw there were 3 runs, all for loses. the 3 passes he threw 2 were completed and that was with defenders touching him.
As far as handing the ball off. WKU ran the ball quite a bit, they have 2 very talented backs. He knows how to hand the ball off.
