The Dolphins are coming both to the LA Coliseum (which is so big it never sells out) to play the Rams and San Diego (which rarely sells out) so those games are going to be blacked out for me.
There's always the internet.
Last season I tried the NFL season pass for the first time. It wasn't great but, it wasn't bad. My computer screen is only 26" but, No black-outs.
This season I'm setting up a slingbox in Fort Lauderdale and forwarding all the programming to Costa Rica over the internet.
Ross has been very good about buying all unsold tickets so, no blackouts.
I'll keep the NFL package for a back-up in case the internet goes out.
If all else fails, there's always FirstRowSports for free.
You can always tell it's almost football season when Chreyn pays his Sunday Ticket! Queue up the guys who shaved some bucks off the NFL in the following messages...
I have asked you this before SoCalPhin....SoCal is also short hand for Southern California...and I have asked you if you are from Southern California. You did not answer.
The Raiders left L.A. in 1994...the Rams left L.A. in 1995. This is the year 2016. So from 1994 and 1995 TO THE PRESENT YEAR, there were no pro football teams in Southern California or the Los Angeles area, whichever term you prefer.
But bottom line, since there was no LA team, then I did not have to contend with a Blackout rule with the possible exception of the San Diego Chargers trying to claim the Los Angeles market for purposes of Black out rules.
The Black out rule states that if a home game has not sold out within a certain amount of days before kickoff, that game is Blacked out in the local market.
No team, no blackout. Thus, I had no real up to date knowledge of the coming and going of the Blackout rule.
But even if there were to HAVE BEEN a team in L.A., I would still get the Sunday Ticket because it affords the opportunity to see your favorite team (if it is a team not in YOUR area like the Dolphins are not in the L.A. Area) whether they are playing somewhere else or in their home area....that is Miami for the Dolphins.
Yeah, I live in Brea, CA. North Orange County area.
Born/lived in Miami till '78, when my family moved to So Cal/ OC.
I thought it was at least a year or two since the black out rule was lifted. It used to affect the Charger games where I live. Maybe not in LA county. I know none of the Charger games were blacked out last year here.
Used to go to a lot of Ram/Raider games back in the day. Especially when the Rams moved to Anaheim.
Gonna be a blast catching the phins at the Coliseum this year v the Rams.
