Game 1: Miami @ Washington

The Dolphins are the favorite by 3.5 points.

The biggest mismatch I see is Ndamukong Suh vs rookie, Brandon Scherff. The Redskins are high on him but he has struggled at times. He was bull rushed into the QB this PS going against Tyrunn Walker and that guy is not is the same category as Suh.

Next to Scherff at RT is highly touted, Morgan Moses. The talented 2014, 3rd round pick who sat out the year due to lisfranc surgery.

These two will definitely need help against Suh and Wake. Unfortunately for them, they won't get much from their TE's in the way of blocking.

Jordan Reed is the starter but he more of an H-back at 6'2 236. The 2nd TE is about the same size. They just picked up a larger TE yesterday from Seattle. Anthony McCoy, 6'4, 260. Maybe panicking a bit with the thought of this weeks matchup....LOL. Not sure how much he can offer while learning a new offense.

They will likely double Suh with Scherff and C, Lichtensteiger and have Moses vs Wake with the assistance of a FB or HB.

That leaves Mitchell one on one with Shawn Lauvao and Vernon one on one with franchise LT, Trent Williams. Maybe a big day for Mitchell or a blitzing LB.

The Redskins also only have 4 CB's this week (Bashaud Breeland is suspended for Week 1). David Amerson, Chris Culliver, DeAngelo Hall and Justin Rogers with safeties, Dashon Goldson and Duke Ihenacho, a backup safety from Denver. Those guys are decent but I'm not sure how they cover all our receivers.

There could be mismatch problems with their LB's in coverage on Jordan Cameron as well as nickle corner, Justin Rogers on Jarvis Landry.

Our toughest match-up will be our o-line vs their defensive front. They have some new and talented additions there. Stephen Paea, Terrence Knighton, Jason Hatcher and Ryan Kerrigan.

I think we can negate the pass rush with our quick passing game but the true test will be how we run the ball. A good test for our new line.

I predict Miami 27 Washington 10

There really is no excuse to lose this game. What I want to see is us going full throttle no matter how big the lead is

I think our D will dominate their oline and I think tannehills comfort level with the system will negate our oline deficiencies.

34-0 we should kill the Skins. Cousins get's nervous after the first hard hit or mistake he makes. He has shown this tendacy in each year he has played. You can overcome physical mistakes but not emotional.

Ndamukong Kill!! and play nicely let your teammates kill too!

Maybe philbin just doesn't have a good IQ to be coach in the NFL.

I think he is cam cameron like.

I'm going to miss this game, will be on the road so I'll have to record it for later viewing.

My thought is that we have a superior team in every respect to the Redskins. In theory, or on paper, whatever, we should dominate and win with a lopsided score. We need to keep pace with NE...step for step.

Sounds like Devante Parker was full strength all week. His teammates remarked how good he looked and that he was making plays in practice.

I expect to see DP and Jennings split some snaps. Jennings is aging and could benefit from fewer snaps and Parker is still working his way into the offense. I think Parker only gets about 20 snaps or so this week though.

DP is going to surprise some team with a big day. No other team has seen him since he was out all preseason.

They say we are the healthiest team in the NFL. Only one player questionable this week. Taylor, MJames, Albert, Parker all probable. One player on IR (Pit had 13).

Let's hope it stays that way and that the new "football science" staff continues to pay off all season.

If we stay relatively healthy and we don't win 11 games, something is terribly wrong with the coaching staff.

Just watched an interview with DP. He's a VERY shy kid. Very uncomfortable talking to the media. That's not a bad thing at all, IMO. Better than listening to a diva run his mouth all the time....DeSean Jackson, Brandon Marshall, Shady McCoy, etc.

We've all been let down by this team in the past several time, however I honestly have a really good feeling about this season and am envisioning 10 to 11 wins (ok, 11 is a stretch I know)..

LET'S GO DOLPHINS!!!!!

My prediction since the schedule came out has been 10 wins...11 would be spectacular.

As for this week; 28-9 Phins.

What's up with Chris McCain? I really thought he was going to have some impact this year. Now Chris Perkins is reporting that he's falling out of favor with the coaches.

Anyone got any insight?

My assumption based on just looking at him was lack of work ethic. That's usually the first thing to get you in the dog house with this staff. He looks skinny to me. Like he did not work out in the OS.

Wow, I thought our front four was supposed to be ferocious and 'Skins O-Line was supposed to suck... Schreff really holding his own against Suh this first drive.

I know, first drive of first game of the season, but not what I expected.

Let's go Phins!!!
