Did you guys copy off each other's papers?!?! spinning smiley sticking its tongue out

Lots of similar picks between the three of you but I agree 100...make that about 92%!

I had Stanfill too because his team sack record stood for a very long time; and he played back when qb's passed a lot *less often* <---edit. Meaning less opportunities to get a sack. I also fondly remember all those players from the old days. My ballot looks a lot like yours!

Kooch was a no brainer because he was not just a beast, but a versatile beast. Played every position on the line at one time or another. Absolutely manhandled Alan Page during SB VII.

Csonka, no question. Scott & ANderson, yep.

I smiled to see all of you pick Norm Evans; I loved that guy. He even scored a TD once, I think

I could go on an on.

Yeah, as far as QB goes, you can argue either way with Griese or Marino.

Griese was the more complete QB but Marino was the better passer.

On Marino's side, Griese had a better complimenting team, both running game and defense whereas Marino had to do it alone.......and he almost did (win a SB that is).

Tony Nathan over Ricky Williams is ridonculous
Also Dan Carpenter (60 yards) has longest FG, not Stoyo (59 or 58 I think)
And maybe it's bc I started following the dolphins in 1984-85 when their D sucked but I don't remember Brudzinski or Betters being all that, since their D was always pretty bad. I know Betters had a lot od sacks on year in the earlier 80s
Otherwise I pretty much agree with the list

Not necessarily, when you consider the different roles Nathan played, and the fact that his tenure with the Dolphins was longer than Ricky's.

Oh, and Nathan never quit on the Dolphins.

Nathan played longer, you're right, but still had 3000 less rushing yards than RW. I am also very over RW quitting on the phins, I probably would have quit on Wannstedt too!

Any argument to place Nathan over Williams would *not* be based on statistics. Nathan was also a great receiver and overall great team player. There is no statistic for reliability, so I can't measure Nathan's contribution that way.

I got over it too for the most part when he returned. I was very glad that he was able to return and contribute after his.....hiatus. But in my mind his actions removed him consideration for being a top 50 Dolphin of all time. My top 50 does not include quitters, even quitters of Dave W. A majority of fans will probably select Ricky, but I won't.

I have a feeling the DT discussion will be a bit different after this season. I know it's too early to put Suh in this list, but he's better than Bowens or Baumhower.

In an ideal world I'd pick Ricky over Nathan simply on talent. I guess you'd have to balance how good a player someone was to how valuable they were to the organization long-term. In Ricky's case, he was the team MVP before he quit, but Wanny drove him into the ground. I also wonder how Andre Franklin would have played if he hadn't gotten hurt.

It'll be different all right, unless Suh settles in QUICKLY.

Remember the circumstances behind that though. Ricky had a BIG incentive in his contract if he reached a certain number of yards. Wanny gave him more carries towards the end of the season to help Ricky earn a BIG bonus. Ricky shows his appreciation by quitting the team and blaming Wanny for helping him get an extra, very large, paycheck.
