How do you figure?

He only got fired when we hired Philbin. We weren't going to hire him based on him being an interim HC. Nobody else gave him a HC gig after mopping up for Sporano. So if he didn't beat out Philbin for the HC gig in 2012, he'd have only been DC for us if he'd remained. If he was as good at that as he's been for AZ then we'd be winning and Philbin would be getting an extension and Bolwes would be looking at one of the many HC spots open this year.

The only shot Bowles had at being our HC was if he beat out Philbin when he was hired in 2012.
