AFC Playoffs

Since you guys killed a perfectly good thread....lets stick to football if possible.

AFTER a win tonight...

1 NE 9-3 (@ SD)
2 Den 9-3 (Buf)
3 Cin 8-3-1 (Pit)
4 Ind 8-4 (@ Cle)
5 SD 8-4 (NE)
6 Mia 7-5 (Bal)

7 KC 7-5 (@ AZ)
8 Buf 7-5 (@ Den)
9 Bal 7-5 (@ Mia)
10 Pit 7-5 (@ Cin)
11 Cle 7-5 (Ind)

Every team involved is in the playoff hunt.

On paper this schedule is ripe for the picking.

Best case scenario...

SD over NE (East coast travel to WC)
Den over Buf (drop div rival a game)
Ind over Cle (drop 7-5 team a game)
Cin over Pit (drop 7-5 team a game)
AZ over KC (drop 7-5 team, not likely the way both teams are playing)

Mia over Baltimore! Must win vs a team that always gives us problems. Luckily it's at home.

Standings if all this happens....

1 Den 10-3 (@ SD)
2 Cin 9-3-1 (@ Cle)
3 Ind 9-4 (Hou)
4 NE 9-4 (Mia)
5 SD 9-4 (Den)
6 Mia 8-5 (@ NE)

Miami in NE for 1st place.

Mia win over NE gives us both a 9-5 record but Miami has the advantage with 4-1 division record vs 2-2 for NE. Miami also would have 7-3 conference record to NE @ 6-4.

Last two games....

Vikings @ Mia
Jets @ Mia

NE @ NYJ
Buf @ NE

So even if we both win out the last two weeks, Mia has 5-1 division record to NE's 4-2.

Right now we have the 6th seed. Got to shore up the middle of the defense this week! best guards in the NFL next week and a 1k rusher.

Playoffs?!...
Playoffs??!

Not if our defense keeps allowing 200 yds rushing.

The Ravens are 10x better than the Jests, who we just nearly lost to.

Well, this coming week could end up very good for us:

7 KC 7-5 (@ AZ)
8 Buf 7-5 (@ Den)
9 Bal 7-5 (@ Mia)
10 Pit 7-5 (@ Cin)
11 Cle 7-5 (Ind)

I could see KC, Buffalo, Baltimore, Pitt, AND Cleveland all losing.

That's true about the defense but it doesn't matter what the jets record is because division games are always tougher. I mean, we put 36 on the Broncos and only 16 on the Jets.

I found it interesting that the guy that spent 2 years repeating the same thing in every thread is worried about repetitiveness all of a sudden eye rolling smiley

I just find it interesting why people worry about OTHER teams losing.

Just win the games and the Dolphins will get in.

If you have to worry about some teams losing for the Dolphins to get in, do they really deserve it?

I would think you would want to get into the playoffs because you win and not because someone else loses...I would, but then again I am a winner.

Joe, you mean like you just did?

Yes. It's all uninteresting. Can you ever stick to the topic or is it your goal to derail every thread? This is about the playoffs. If you don't want to talk about it then don't post. It's pretty simple. The rest of us are here to discuss football.

I was and am talking about the playoffs. I said if the Dolphins win they are in the P L A Y O F F S..

you are the one that actually derailed it.

"Because we are not going to win every game....but thanks for the insight!

because this is a DISCUSSION board.

Hey Joe.

I am sorry that I questioned your desire to discuss what other teams had to do for the Dolphins to make the playoffs.

I understand that some people enjoy talking about other teams losing so the Dolpins can slip in and make the playoffs.

Please continue to enjoy talking about the other teams and their games.

Again sorry to offend.

I am thinking Johnny Football goes off on the Bengals this week after the "midget" comment by Marvin Lewis. That drops Cincy to 8-5-1 and takes Cleveland to 8-6.

Bengals: Browns, Broncos, Steelers
Final record 9-6-1

Steelers (8-5): ATL, KC, Cincy
Final record 9-7

Ravens (8-5): Jags, Hou, Cle
Final record 10-6

Browns (7-6): Cin, Car, Bal
Final record 9-7

Chargers (8-5): Den, SF, KC
Final record 9-7

Chiefs (7-6): Oak, Pit, SD
Final record 9-7

So if you are right on everything, we go 10-6, that would tie us with the Ravens for the best spot you list above, where would that put us, if at all, in the playoffs? I don't feel like doing the work.

In the above scenario with Miami going 10-6, Baltimore takes the 4th seed (div winner) and we have the 5th.

That would also mean traveling to Baltimore for the WC game. Assuming the Colts win 2 of 3 out of Hou, Ten & Dallas.

I could only get it to change the records as per my 3 weeks of predictions. I could not get it to spit out a playoff scenario based on those three weeks

Just ran the simulator for what I thought were the best results for us ending up 9-7.

We STILL end up OUT of the playoffs.

Under the simulator, there would be THREE AFC WEST teams, Denver, KC and San Diego.

We beat San Diego so Joe, it must have been that San Diego had the tiebreaker over KC in the division and that left us matched against KC and they have some tiebreaker over us????

Mr. "Joe Football," this has to be the:

most erroneous

irrelevant

pie in the sky

jack ass in the box

daft dumb and blind thread

I have ever witnessed! Well done. For pure,

unadulterated sarcasm, this here thread is "the balls!"

Seriously. Tom "The Lady" Brady laughed his vagina off!
