Also, I can tell you Fort Lauderdale cops have a very bad reputation of corruption, steriods and abusive behavior... As far back as the 1950's... The last people you want to mess with or be in a bad postion with is Fort Lauderdale police especially on 2nd street in that area....

I like the way the team under Hickey has approached this situation. They reprimanded him but not excessively without a legal resolution.

They suspended him one game for basically putting himself in a bad situation and acting like an idiot and will likely respond later after a verdict or resolution. It seems appropriate for a situation that seemed to be out of character for Shelby.

I could be wrong but I got the impression that they suspended him because the original reports were that the genisis of the event was a possible sexual assault and that they reinstated him because there were no such charges or complaints filed.

The team suspension also prohibits the NFL from suspending him again.

That's a good break.

I'd have thought that since he was suspended with pay he could be suspended by the league without pay.

That's what I've read from several sources. i think it deals with behavior, not PED's, etc.
