His cancer has come back did not like him as a player however a few years ago he lost a son. I will send out prayers too him. Cancer of the jaw is bad news, and very hard to cure as it came back a year after they removed part of his jaw. He, and Marino are friends. I hope he recovers, but it will be a long road. He was a very good player however dipping tobacco is about as bad a smoking in some cases.

Damn...agreed; I didn't like him as a player but obviously respect the guy 100%.

Best wishes to him and his family, and guys: don't dip, and by all means don't let your kids dip. It's nasty on so many levels.

I hear you , But Heroin and Prescription meds are not available everywhere like at your 7-11, local bodega , walmart , you name it. Just being so readily available makes Tobacco seriously dangerous. And Stupid. No high, nothing except cancer. smoking smileyconfused smiley

GO DOLPHINS!!!!

We are dealing with probabilities, WestCoast and the rest of you guys. Tobacco has a high probability of resulting in cancer but it's not the ONLY way you can get cancer, lung or even throat or mouth.

Sometimes it's in the genetic makeup or should I say, the genetic vulnerability.

That doesn't mean that it makes no difference and you can smoke though. Think about it.

You might be one of the huge percentage of the population that does NOT HAVE A GENETIC VULNERABILITY and wouldn't you feel bad if you smoked or used snuff and got cancer anyway?

The point is that just because you can get cancer WITHOUT using tobacco is NO REASON to use it and run the risk of getting cancer FROM tobacco use.

This is a depressing thread. I did some exams to find out if i had tyroid cancer and it came out negative but those are the most difficult 2 month of my life.

Some of us have to give thanks to god for everyday. Including me.

Im very thankfull. we do not know what we have until we lose it.
