I foresee big lawsuits by Martin, the Asst Trainer, and the unnamed player.

I think the unnamed player is Garner.
John Jerry and Pouncey don't look so good either

Pouncey and Jerry are followers. Pathetic that no one had the balls to stand up to "Bad Richie". No wonder this team was so inconsistent. The locker room was a mess. Like Polian said...If Incog is your leader, you are in trouble!

Turner is history. The writing was on the wall weeks ago when we hired the Texans OL coach.

it should have stayed in house.

every team has a holes like incog, pouncy, and jerry but when you play a big boy sport at the highest level you act like a man and stand up for yourself.

the lockerroom is not your normal work place.

the vets that can't even get health insurance are laughing at this nonsense.

now our reactionary commissioner is going to change the rules to accomodate the meek and meager like martin.

he's not cut out for the NFL. He doesn't have a right to play.

all because our society and media are quick to run with anything that has bullying and racism attatched to it.

NO. They were acting like they have been toward each other since High School Football. Its what Guys do. Maybe not to that level , but they are supercharged athletes at the top of their game. Your 30020 pounds and 6'6" , a grown man, a professional athlete....and you feel bullied? Really? This shit flies , its what will end this country. I remember back when I played ball coaches telling me to suck it up , back in the academy , them telling me to be a Team Player. This is disgraceful. Martin plays on the Dolphins next season I swear I will boycott the season . Not one game will I watch. And I will remind my Boys every Sunday why we are not watching Football. Because I said YOU STAND UP FOR YOURSELF ALWAYS and never make any excuses for shortcomings. Be a man.

As far as I'm concerned Michael Sam is NOT the first Homosexual to come out, Its definitely Jonathan Martin, He just doesn't realize it yet.

GO DOLPHINS!!!!

J-mart is not cut out for most NFL locker rooms but not many players ascend to the level of "asshole" of Richie Incognito.

Ireland failed because getting a starter for cheap was more important than team chemistry or personal conduct.

There was a failure in leadership in the locker room. Incognito should have never been left to run wild in Miami. Turner and others failed to meet responsibilities of being NFL coaches.

Ireland should have traded (or cut) Incognito after the 2012 charity event incident.

Exactly! NOT TO THAT LEVEL...and this is not high school. And NO ONE on my HS or college team went to that level. Sure, there were assholes but usually the true leaders kept them in check.

making excuses because they are athletes? It's a cop out.

Or you act like a man in other ways and can be judged for how you treat others. Not by acting like a Neanderthal, knuckle dragging man-child. No part of being a man includes anything that Incognito has done or does it excuse it. Incog is a child. Not a man. When a group of people hold power over another and use it to demean them, that makes them a man? Give me a break. Was he being a man when he molested the woman at a charity event?

And now you are using "homosexual" as a derogatory term. Nice.

The report, I believe, is out there for anyone to read. Me? No way I am going through 140+ pages.

Now, not knowing everything that is in that report, going by its conclusions, I ask:

Has this guy, Weiss, ever played football and been a part of the locker room? It seems, again only going by what I have heard and what little I have read, that he is basing the locker room atmosphere on what goes on in civilian life. This, IMO, is an extremely wrong way to do it. That's like comparing military life to a civilian corporation, like COSTCO. Apples and Oranges.

Granted, if anything like that went on in the civilian world, damn right that would be considered bullying and harassment. But, this is an NFL locker room, consisting of jocks. The mentality is completely different.

As has been pointed out numerous times, by professional football players themselves, this is what goes on in ALL NFL locker rooms; it's the norm!

Concerning your comment that Martin should have acted like a man and stood up for himself...I read that he has had those same types of problems since his high school days. Sounds to me like football should have never been his game; he just isn't strong enough (mentally) to handle the game and everything that goes into it.

Oh, I was also thinking while listening to all the reports this AM, and you touched on it, as to what the old timers are thinking of this situation. I am sure this is nothing compared to what they used to do to one another.

There is no doubt in my mind that the Comish is going to work to change the locker room atmosphere, but, in reality, it should be cut back some. If you think about it, this is a grown man's game; how about they act like grown men? The childishness should be eliminated completely. Is it really necessary to do some of the things they do? Make the rookies sing, make them get donuts (or whatever), make them carry other players' pads, etc. Just dump the silliness.

I also agree that it should have stayed in house, but again, without reading the report, did Martin sincerely try to bring this to the coaching staff's or GMs attention?

I have a lot more to say, but I don't want to be writing a novel on this board, so I will just go piecemeal replying to other posts concerning this subject.

Although it's possible Martin could once again play for the Dolphins, I truly believe it ain't gonna happen. He has already shown he is too weak for this game, and he also disrupted the Dolphins' organization. I thought, until this report came out, that Richie had a good chance of returning to the team, but now it looks like he may have a hard time playing for anyone in the NFL.

I believe that both, however, will find a team to play for next year.

Not so sure about Ritchie. The Wells report is going to be politically correct in every way and say the things people want him to say. On ESPN and all NFL related talk shows The coaches and players will all shake their heads and publically denounce Ritchie because he said the "N" word. You just can't condone that and still have a career in public broadcasting.

But behind the scenes I think people realize the "context" in which Ritchie made those comments . The only thing that I find kind of disturbing is his treatment of that female on the gold course he paid off. But He can play for another Team , he still has value and I think will be an asset.

Martin is a dipshit. A Locker room cancer I could never trust or ever want to be around. He is a drama queen , he is a media dime dropper and as a man I find it disgusting the way he finds excuses for his lack of accountability for his lack of professionalism and athletic ability at this level.

GO DOLPHINS!!!!

I know that if I were a rookie, no one is going to give me a stupid haircut. I'm not carrying anyone's pads, and I'm not forking out big bucks for veterans' dinners. I've always thought that athletes' macho behavior has nothing to do with manhood... joking around and "harmless" pranks are fine, but silly games and hazing is just immature. Then again, most of these athletes are just overgrown juvenile delinquents.

God you are swallowing up what the press feeds you , spoonful after spoonful. You really thing Iggy had ANY power over Martin? This isn't a lineman pushing around a Kicker. AND its funny how everyone is still focused on what Iggy wrote and Not Martin saying he was going to F**k him with sand Paper dildos.

BOTTOM LINE. Martin made up any crap about being Bullied because he is a suck ass Football player. He was getting benched and couldn't handle it. He was depressed and wanted to commit suicide long before Iggy was his teammate. NONE of this should have went to the Press. None of it.

if anything the Girl that Iggy fondled should have been made public. Not kept under wraps. The Way Martin handled this was disgusting , he feed a Hungry Hungry press animal and this is what you get.

I hope Martin never plays Professional Ball again. Disgrace. And I meant what I said about his homosexuality and will stand by it, Martin will come out eventually. I will bet money on it. Someone calls me a Homo I laugh at them. But to Martin it wasn't a laughing matter was it? How were those idiots to know it was really True?

Martin wears Aqua and Orange next year I don't watch. That simple. I have 2 Boys to raise and they are not following his example.

Michael Sam I have no problem with. I bet he handles business like a man.

Its a piss poor day to be a Dolphin Fan. I do thank Martin for getting that piece of shit Incog out of town, Some people think he is a hero but
he is an ahole. He twitterins sounds more bitchy than Martin. I am really glad these clowns are gone.

Maybe now Philbin can get high character players that dumb ass!

The good to come out of this disaster is new rules for the NFL to follow regarding the work place, and all those involved in it on and off the playing field. That is going to be a good change for all involved. No more hazing or cursing, or rough housing you guys get the message. I work in a corporate environment where these rules are taken very seriously, and every one in the work place is protected. That needs to the case in every work place every where in this great country. You want to work you follow the rules at the work place, or you won't work their or any where else any more point blank.

I think part of the problem is Philbin ran all the leaders out of town (bush, dansby, etc) bc he did not want his authority questioned. with no leaders to keep incog in check he was free to run amok and we all see the results.
philbin is FAR from blameless in this. the fact that he did not "know" may excuse him on one level, but on another is really damning---how could he not know what was going on on his own locker room? again, my question is, what exactly does philbin do here, what does he bring to the table? nothing I can see.....

Philbin is an idiot who is above his head. He makes headlines for chewing Thomas out for being late for a flight and has all of this crap going on in the background. He did purge the team of all of its strongest leaders and left the animals in control.

I wanted his head on a platter next to Ireland and Sherman.

worst part of philbin is we gave up the ability to hire the best possible GM b/c of Ross's moronic insistance on keeping him another year. he will be gone next year and we will be stuck with hicky or (hopefully) a clean sweep at long last

I agree that I think Philbin is the ultimate leader of this team and some of the blame needs to fall on him regardless... As Berk brought up, whether it was Philbin or Ireland, we got rid of all of the leaders last year... Long, Bush, Dansby, Fasano. To me it seemed Philbin didn't like anyone else being the leader but him... Well, he got the leadership role and failed to deliver... That is on him more then anyone else....

I'm sorry. You can't compare this to a corporate environment. That's just not fair. I choose also not to work in a corporate environment. You choose to wear ties and suits and work in the A/C all day. You work out on the grass, in the snow, in the mud, you have a different type of mental attitude. THERE ARE NO WOMEN. Usually. When one shows up you be respectful. I rough house with my squad guys all the time. When someone new shows up they get Rookie treatment. I did it. Its all part of it. So when the shit hits the fan you have the mental toughness to deal. Being a football player is along those lines. We make fun of each other all the time. Its part of being in the Club. Being a man. How pathetic.

Because of this way of thinking , all of the knee jerk reactions and rule changes coming down the pike........I hope the plays resent the shit out of Martin and his pussy attitude and he never plays again.

We lose Pouncy also because of him? Shit. Whatever . Just take the hit and lets move on already. But I want Martin out of the state. That guy is anywhere near this team I won't watch. Not a second of it.

The minute you said gay and named an employee HR would get involved, and then heads would roll. We had some one who was lesbian that was proud of her life style. I never broached that subject with her as I need my six figure salary. No gay person is worth a pink slip Berkely. So I'm not saying that getting HR involved is wrong? You can't stare at the women you work with or say extreme things to anyone. Their are rules of etiquette that must be followed.
